I didn't buy them for straining juleps. My mother has a strainer just like this it was great for straining soups, it caught everything thing. No idea how old it was. Anyway I got it, and after a couple of years lost it. So after an extensive search I finally came across these. A great deal and its as close to that original strainer my mother had.
Heavy gauge stainless steel, looks and functions great. No dislikes at all. Great for making up a martini.
I have read other reviews that mention these spoons are not sturdy. I just do not experience that. I think they are a good size AND a good weight. We have found a lot of uses for them – not just straining cocktails. One review mentioned being disappointed with the “display”. The spoons look exactly as pictured. But ours “live” in a drawer. ??? I am very pleased with this purchase. Maybe I am just not expecting that much from $4.50 spoons …

cheap, sturdy, they are comfortable to hold, they fit my mixing glass well. what more could I ask for.
Nice size and weight. Does exactly what a julep strainer should do.
Had to get these for the price in case I lose them.
