Excellent coffee maker for 1 or 2 people
This is the best-sized coffee maker I've ever had. It makes the right amount of coffee for me, the components are small and easy to clean, and the coffee taste is excellent. It's taking the place of my Cuisinart 12-cup coffee maker, also a good one, but bigger than I need or want, except for the occasional times when I need larger coffee quantities. I value the extra counter space I've saved. Both coffee makers use the same filters. My main criticism is that I can barely read the measuring marks on the water reservoir, and they don't look nearly as clear as the ones shown in the online images. I've stopped trying to add water while using the measuring lines, but instead measure with the measuring cup.I miss the brewing completion chime of the Cuisinart unit, but I bought a sand timer that I like to see and use instead. It may be the only one that has a time that matches this coffee maker's brew time for a full pot:Soffee Design 6-Minute Hourglass.http://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZCXQFXN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1I like clocks and timepieces, so this was an easy choice for me.My routine for making coffee, if it can help anybody else:1) Fill the carafe with hot tap water.2) Using a measuring cup, add cold water to the reservoir: use 1 measure each of 300ml + 400ml to fill it to the max mark.3) Pour the still-warm tap water from the carafe into the coffee-drinking mug, and also into a cup for measuring milk.4) Add coffee grounds to the filter in the filter basket.5) Put the filter basket onto the carafe and place in the brewer.6) Start the coffee brewing process.7) Start the timer.8) Heat milk in the microwave oven for 20 seconds.9) Add the milk to the carafe when the brewing is complete. This coffee maker recommended. Great for 1 or 2 people.

Great coffee maker !
Was looking for a new coffee maker that is made with minimal plastic. This coffee maker is easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee. Easy to clean. Downside, if you like your coffee very hot like I do. Water straight from the refrigerator (filtered water) may result in coffee that is not as hot. You could either leave water on the counter overnight to get it room temp or add hot water from tap to eat the pot before you brew. Also once you figure out the grind you need you will be good to go. Large grind will equal weak coffee too small a grind will make strong coffee. Once you get it down you will love this coffee maker. Manufacturer suggest ground the size of course table salt

Leaky Coffee Maker
This unit was bought to replace previous Bonavita that was taking forever to heat and pour the water on to the the coffee grounds. After a few days of use, we found puddle of water under carafe after each use. I am not certain what the mechanism of failure is. I will be returning this unit.We like this Bonavita coffee maker for multiple reasons: simple fuss free operation, maintains consistent water temperature, brews good coffee consistently. thermal carafe. Perfect size for 2 people drinking coffee. There are million options for people looking to buy 8-12c coffee maker.Cons: the thermal carafe is not easy to empty all the water by turning upside down. Some people have criticized, the lack of heating plate to maintain coffee temp. My personal preference is never to leave coffee on a heating plate of a coffee maker anything beyond 5-10 mins, it ruins the coffee flavor. For that reason, the thermal carafe does a good job of maintaining the temp. Yes, its true, it does not keep it hot for 2 hours. I would much prefer to brew another cup than drink 2 hour old coffee, sans flavor.

A good basic coffee maker that brews up to five cups max.
This is a lovely little coffee pot, 15 1/8 inches tall with the water lid up, so it fits under low cabinets nicely. The pot is well made and seems sturdy, even the plastic water tank. The carafe takes some getting used to as the top of the lid comes off for cleaning. You have to learn how to unscrew the lid without removing the top half. Makes hot coffee (about 175 degrees F measured a minute after brewing). Like all metal carafes some liquid lingers after brewing that you can't easily pour out. I wipe it and the water tank out with a paper towel after they cool off. The maker is noisy, burbling and gurgling as it brews, and you need to wait after it clicks off to make sure all the water leaks out of the filter holder into the carafe before you remove that as there is nothing to keep the liquid in the holder. I would rate this at 5 stars if the water tank was removable for filling or if there was a charcoal filter for the water. Otherwise this is the perfect coffee maker for small amounts of coffee. It uses size 4 paper filters or a reusable gold filter, but you should fold the paper filter edge and bottom down to insure a good fit with no filter sticking up over the side. If you want a small, basic coffee maker, this is a good choice. If you want a glass carafe or programmable brewer or need to make a large pot of coffee each time, this is not the right choice.
