Excellent coffee maker

This is an excellent coffee maker, and a major upgrade from previous models. After our previous Bonavita failed after ~2000 cycles (we drink a lot of coffee in our household), we were excited to try the latest and greatest. The detachable water reservoir makes filling much easier - just carry over to the sink and fill up with fresh filtered water. The coffee grounds basket clicks right into the top of the maker, instead of resting on the carafe like the older models, which makes prep easier. The glass carafe doesn't keep the brewed coffee as warm as the thermal carafe, but the glass does now sit on a heat plate that will stay warm for ~2 hours (I think) before automatically shutting off (I couldn't find this specifically documented, but have observed anecdotally). But hey - if you care about making good coffee, you aren't going to just let a fresh pot sit on the counter all day - you're going to drink it! And the glass carafe is such an aesthetic upgrade, the minor loss in old-coffee-warmth is easily offset.Brewing is easy - press on, click brew or bloom (bloom is better, of course), and walk away. It beeps when it's ready, and you simply remove the carafe, add the top (same as their older models), and enjoy!I see a bunch of low star reviews that frankly I find confusing. The coffee maker works like a charm, is easy to setup, and easy to clean. Not sure what else one can ask for, while also making a stellar cup! Infinitely better than any cheap-o Mr Coffee maker - but hey, if you can't taste the difference, your wallet will be blessed!

Love the Design

I’ve been really impressed with this coffee machine so far. It brews a full pot super fast, like under 7 minutes, and the temperature is spot on for getting great flavor, especially if you like lighter roasts. The bloom feature is a nice touch too; it really brings out more depth in the coffee. One thing I really appreciate is how quiet it is, no weird gurgling noises like other machines I’ve used. The water tank is removable and has accurate fill lines, so it’s easy to get the right amount without guessing. Cleanup is simple too, since a lot of the parts come apart easily, including the showerhead. Plus, the thermal carafe actually keeps the coffee hot for hours. Overall, it’s a solid machine that makes great coffee without much hassle.

A little pricy for value but overall makes good coffee

I've been using this for a couple months now and have thoughts.Pros:- super simple machine. Add water, put coffee in basket, pick brew or bloom. coffee is made into the carafe.- the bloom feature does seem to make a little bit of difference, and it makes me feel fancy so I am putting it here.- makes delicious coffee whether I use brew or bloom button.- the water holder comes off and is easy to fill, even has a handle and marks on the side to give you how many cups and how much coffee to use.- easy to clean, there's even a button for it.Cons:- if there is an auto-shutoff, I haven't seen it happen. It seems useless not to just shut off post-brew anyway because the plate isn't heated.- the carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot very long. Since one of my reasons for buying a pot with a carafe was hot coffee for a few hours, this is irritating.Overall I would buy it again (good coffee!) but I think the carafe could use improvement in its heat retention capability.

Perfect for coffee lovers

My old coffee brewer was stopped working for few months, and I searched for a long time and tried to replace it by another one with a better quality. After two weeks, I love everything about this coffee maker. The stylish design matches with my Kitchen. Bonavita Enthusiast Drip Coffee Brewer is not the cheapest, but it has high-cost effectiveness. It is fast brewing and SCA certified. It makes good taste of coffee. The water reservoir is easily detachable for quick refills and cleaning. There are fill lines ensure precise coffee-to-water ratios for consistently perfect brews. It is easy to clean and use.

If you enjoy wattery coffee quick, this could be the expensive machine for you.

Used to have the Bonavita 8-Cup One-Touch BV1902DW which was great for a long time, eventually even with descaling it just stopped being able to get water through. Well that model is no longer available and this one seemed a bit more simple, but basically the same. Unfortunately it only produces weak coffee. No matter if you use the bloom function or not, no matter how fine you grind, the water rushes through and even if you double the grounds the coffee is weak. Tried different coffee, maybe I got a bad batch, no matter what the coffee was weak, no body what so ever.A few extra bits, everything on it feels cheap, as it was mentioned by others it traps water so if you tip the machine a whole bunch suddenly rushes out on your counter. I think we all know it's a good idea to have standing water in food grade machines, and it wasn't just steam or something, the machine wasn't used for several days and it should've evaporated. There are also a bunch of mechanical failure points and several bits that you wouldn't be able to fully clean, like the lid.I'll just get the Beautiful 14-Cup Programmable Drip Coffee Maker with Touch-Activated Display, Rose by Drew Barrymore for a fraction of the price, I mean the end result can't be worse.I'm just sad quality coffee was wasted.

Fast and quiet and sturdy.

This is a great machine. Fast, quiet. I love the sturdy thermos carafe. Keeps the coffee hot without cooking it on a burner. Did I day fast? Did I day quiet?

The carafe literally fell apart

UPDATE: Bonavita is sending a replacement carafe, as I was lucky to be just within warranty by a month and a half. 5 stars pre breaking. Still 2 stars, would have been 1 if no replacement. This is is positioned as a premium coffee maker, and the carafe ought to be better put together. Had no issues with their last version that I think is no longer in production (stainless exterior, black plastic handle and top.Great coffee maker at first, and then the bottom of the carafe fell off the top. Coffee everywhere. It does not seem to go back together - there's no clipping or screw design. Contacting bonavita for support (Oct 10).
