Glass "Crystal" is Good Enough.

The rim of this mini-snifter is not as thin as lead-impregnated glass, but then again, it is not as expensive nor delicate, so it is less likely to break and not as expensive to replace as crystal.I call it a "mini"-snifter, but it is hardly tiny. It will hold more than enough cognac to render you insensible. It does have some metal content, but by its weight in the hand and the somewhat thicker rim, you will know it is not lead crystal (which is not "crystal" but you know what I mean). It will also not refract light as strongly. It will, however, make that nice "zing-ring" as you rub a moistened hamster around the rim (my technique).Serving your guests an aromatic liqueur in a set of these would not go amiss.
