Keeps bread warm for 45 minutes!
I bought two of these for either end of my Thanksgiving table so that every guest had easy access to warm bread throughout the meal. These stones exceeded my expectations and worked perfectly at keeping the rolls warm for 45 minutes. I heated the stones in the oven while my rolls baked.TIP #1: The first time I used the stones, the soft rolls were tricky to remove because they stuck to the bottom of the towel caused by the stone's heat coming from underneath. I prevented this problem the second time I used them by inserting a piece of parchment paper between the towel and the bread; it worked perfectly and eliminated any sticking. My photos illustrate this.TIP #2: If you bake pull-apart rolls in the right size pan, they can be easily transferred directly into the basket in a single layer. You can use (1) 8"x8" baking pan, (2) 9" round baking pan, or (3) if you have two baskets you can bake a big batch of rolls in a 9x13 pan and divide them in two, putting half in each basket.I highly recommend this bread basket and warmer. Our guests marveled at how long the rolls remained warm and they looked lovely on our table. The baskets arrive with a definite grassy odor, so give them time to air out before using.
