8" Chef's knife

I've had a LOT of knives in my life, as I love to cook. I love my Wusthof and Shun chef's knives, but I saw a youTube video reviewing this knife and it piqued my intrest. I found it on Amazon for $48 at the time, so I picked one up out of curiousity. Out of the box it's a gorgeous knife, with a scary-sharp edge... like cartoonishly splitting-a-hair sharp, literally. Despite being used to the handles of the other knives mentioned, this one felt great in my hand and posed no issue getting used to it. The balance was great, and it would glide through meats, vegatables, and fruits like they weren't there. I bought it over 5 months ago, and just recently needed to get out the honing steel, as it's edge just kept holding up. After a few runs on the honing steel, it was cutting 99% as well as it did out of the box. I always hand wash my knives (as anyone who enjoys food prep should), so I can't say how well it would do in the dishwasher. It looks as good as it did when it was new, and I find myself grabbing this knife instead of my "old" favorites anymore. Lastly, I haven't had to actually grind a new edge on it yet, so I don't know how well that will go, as Damascus steel is quite a bit harder than what I'm used to.Now (Jan 23, 2026) Amazon has it priced at only $24?!? I think I'm gonna pick one up for each of my kids as gifts, as good equipment makes cooking a lot more fun.

Feels like luxury quality

I haven’t used this knife to say how well it cuts. It is a gift for my son. After seeing one online that was big $$$, I went bargain hunting. This one was on sale, and was literally 1/4 the price of the one I’d seen. I compared steel type and numbers and everything else I could. This one was an exact match. I was glad it was arriving well before Christmas so I could get a replacement if it wasn’t quality.First, this knife is gorgeous! Photos really don’t do it justice! The colors really pop, and there is a beautiful shine on the blade.Second, it has weight to it. For the price, I was afraid it was going to be lightweight. It’s heavier than any of my current knives. My son in law was over when I unboxed it, and he agreed that it was a good weight and said it had balance to it also.I look forward to updating this after my son gets it and uses it. I feel certain that it will hold a nice edge, but only time will tell me that. I’m seriously tempted to order another and keep this one for myself!
