This is an excellent knife for crusty french bread--it cuts well without squishing the soft inner bread. It is VERY sharp and you must be careful not to touch the tips of the serrations or you will cut yourself. I keep the protective sleeve on it at all time when not in use and store it separately from my other knives to about accidental damage.

Using a bow knife for sourdough bread is so much easier than a regular knife. I prefer the handle on this particular knife. It's slightly raised so your fingers aren't hitting the cutting board before you're through the loaf and the handle is thick which makes for a sturdy grip.

Great for sourdough!!

Cut a very hard piece of sourdough bread, which I eat quite frequently and always had a hard time cutting. This cut right through it like a tomato but it is extremely sharp, and I actually cut myself trying to change the blade to the left-handed side. That was the only complaint I had was that it was difficult to change it over. There is a blade guard that worked quite well, but it was still a little tricky to switch it to a left-handed person but once I did, I loved it it’s fantastic.
