Great set to elevate your baking

I've recently gotten into baking sourdough and was looking for a basic set of tools to elevate my loaves and boules. I selected this set because it comes with everything I've seen in my research around the web including the 2 different shapes of bannetons (oval and circular), a lame and the bread whisk. I've used this set several times and it works great each time with minimal care. This set isn't necessary for great bread making but I have found that it elevates my boules to the next level.While all of the products included feel like they are of high quality and work well, the real hero of this set is the bench scraper. It is sharp enough to cut through dough easily but not so sharp that you can't put your hands on it to scoop of remaining flour. The wood handle is comfortable in my hands and it cleans up easily. For years, I've used one without a handle (just the metal scraper part) and I will never go back. If you're looking for a good beginners set that has everything you need to get started baking artisan style loaves, for yourself or a gift, this is definitely it.

Well Worth the Money

I had just gotten back into baking sourdough bread and was struggling with the dough sticking to the towel in the colander during the proofing. In researching what to do, I learned that preventing sticking using the towel was really iffy, but I also learned about bannetons. Probably the biggest complaint on the internet (not this particular brand, just in general) was poor construction and splinters.I bought this set that has both the round (boule loaf) and oval (batard loaf) baskets. I could not be happier. Sturdy, well made and not the first sign of a splinter. And what a GORGEOUS loaf it made. If you are jury rigging with the floured towel and colander, do yourself a favor and spend the couple of bucks to get the baskets.One unexpected benefit was the lame. I had been using a single-edge razor blade to score the loaves and not having much luck at all. I don't know why the lame works so much better (because it uses a razor blade also), but it really does.There is not a word of instruction with the set, but the internet is full of how-to's, so that is not really a problem.Buy 'em, they are great!

I would have hoped the whisk would last longer…

I bought it over a year ago but I didn’t start my sourdough journey until 10/22/25. So six weeks ago. The bannetons have been great but the dough whisk came apart yesterday. Still loving this journey.
