It's amazing!
I haven't used it to proof bread yet though I'm looking forward to it. I'm an herbalist and I use it to macerate my herbs to make oils for creams and oils to treat conditions or protect skin. It maintains the perfect temperatures as set and the ability to set it for days is a godsend. I live in AZ so usually use the sun but in the winter it get too cold even here. I highly recommend this product.

The thermostat is off between 5 and 12 degrees (hotter than the setting chosen, and the temp shown).
The unit I received of the FarWalx Bread Proofing Box with 68-131 F Temp Control and 99H Timer has a thermostat issue. That being said, I'm still giving it 4 stars because after some testing, I've discovered that it should still do the job as I've intended, which is to culture yogurt. I just can't set the temperature at the actually desired temperature, set the timer, and walk away until the time is up. This unit runs from 5 to 12 degrees warmer than the controller says it is. I tested it with 2 different meat thermometers by putting one thermometer inside the box, sitting loosely, raised up on top of crumpled up paper towels, inside a stemless wine glass. I stuck the probe, which is about 5 or 6 inches, of the 2nd thermometer through a corner where the zipper ended. When I set the thermostat to 110, it didn't hold the setting and went to 108, the box got to 120.7 within about 30 minutes. When I set it to 100, it didn't hold the setting and went to 96, then the box got to 108.3. After letting each setting stay on for up to 2 hours, at some point the timer shut it off, and when I went to test it again, the range hovered around 5 degrees higher than what the unit's thermostat said, as well as the temperature setting. But I didn't let it go for more than 20 minutes or so at that point. So, the moral of the story is that it WILL get to the temperature I need for yogurt, which is between 108 and 112, but I'll have to set it to 102 degrees so that if it errors by 5 degrees, it will get to 107 (hopefully close enough not to kill the culture), and if it errors by 12 degrees, it will get to 114 degrees but it won't get so hot that it would kill my cultures. I ordered a different brand bread proofing brand before this one, and the highest it would get to was about 103, and that wasn't worth gambling on.Other than the thermostat or whatever is going on with the heating element, the box has a nice insulated shell, comes with a steel rack to allow heat to move under the product that you're proofing, and a shallow steel water dish to create steam and more even heat distribution. There's no visible temperature probe, so perhaps the method this design uses is part of the problem with the thermostat inaccuracy. But at least it heats up!

Perfect solution
This is exactly what I needed for countertop proofing. It works great and folds up flat for easy storage in between. I also like the window in the top that you can look through to check the dough without letting heat out. Highly recommend!

Compact Proofing Box with Consistent Proofing
This Bread Proofing Box is so great for using in my kitchen during the winter, when my house stays cold. It is an excellent upgrade from DIY proofing methods like using an oven with the light on, or like me, turning the oven on and making a towel tent where the heat vents. The three sided heating system is very effective, maintaining a consistent temperature throughout the box that matches the digital display quite accurately. The temperature range and the timer provide flexibility for everything from quick pizza dough to sourdough or yogurt making which takes longer. It is also easy to wipe clean. The build quality seems impressive, with a mix of sturdy Oxford cloth and aluminum lining for insulation, while the collapsible design is a lifesaver for small kitchens like mine. It expands as well, easily fitting large bowls or multiple bannetons, yet it folds down almost flat for effortless storage. The setup and breakdown process takes less than a minute, and the zipper closure creates a reliable seal to trap both heat and humidity. There is a little viewing window in the top, butnif you need to open it to check your dough, the box reaches its target temperature quickly enough that a quick zip open to check your dough doesn't cause a significant temperature drop. The included shelf and water tray are practical additions that help maintain the ideal environment for fermentation. For the price, this is a valuable tool that brings professional level consistency to home baking.
