The concept and the sizing is great, but the slots fit in too loosely making the cutting difficult because you have to hold the pieces in place as you try to cut because it moves all around and the end piece is so loose it falls off on first movement of the knife. Also, it would be better if wood that touches bread was a hard wood. Even slicing bread slow and gently it is impossible to not take some of the wood off the slots. I jammed some chopsticks at the end to make a tighter fit, but it still not great.
The spacing of the slotted slots slicing rails may not be an ideal fit, based on the actual dimensions of loaves made. Takes a bit of trial and error to hold loaves firmly in place.The results are definitely better, more uniform, than “freehand” slices.
Love it and so glad I went with this one. We go to farmers markets and we get different breads that are not sliced. This I can adjust to size of the bread. Nice having sliced bread all the same size and not struggle. Keeps the mess all confined in the tray easy clean up. When I am done easy to store all fits in the tray.
I love this for cutting the sourdough bread
I bought this for my boyfriend since he's in a big baking phase and he loves it. Great to get more even sized slices!
The first one I ordered was broken so I sent it back and they sent me a new one which was all great but it just seems a little flimsy. It does the job but it would be nice if it was more sturdy.
