I made a loaf of bread just to try it out. Better than the more expensive bread slicer I bought last year. That slicer has all kinds of slices and cuts in the plastic. More cuts means more plastic. The metal supposedly stops the knife from slicing into the plastic. I took 1 star off because I did notice the knife still occasionally cuts into the plastic. Not all the straps at the bottom have a metal strip. Love the fact it has two braces for the bread. So much easier. It has 2 sizes, thin and normal slices. It's a keeper.

Works BUT...
It works BUT , in order to get even slices, I had to buy an electric knife so I don't put pressure on the loaf because if I do, then it moves and ruins the slice, with an electric x knife, holding the bread ia not necessary and I get even slice, also works better with 500gr breads, bigger are more difficult bc it surpases the height of the device...The build quality is nor great, is flimsy but lile I said it works but you must get the electric knife IMO

Great quality, sides snap in nice and tight so they don't move, love the pieces that hold each end of bread in place so it doesn't slide around also. Has nice design, I really like that it all stores inside together to store and that it is adjustable to just about any size loaf, and slice size with 2 different size options. Plastic is very sturdy, and the metal strips along the bottom helps from having plastic cut when you slice your bread.
