Nice set
This is a pricey knife set, but rest assured, it's one of the best you will find for such a price. These are not the first BRODARK knives I have reviewed, and it seems that all of their knives are the same. Super high quality, and extremely sharp, right out of the box.The look of these in particular is awesome. The off-white really is a beautiful color in almost any kitchen. They look nice without looking too fancy.The feel, as well, is great. They have a decent heft to them, but not overly heavy. The handles are comfortable to grip, and the grip is solid and firm.They have a full tang, which is a must-have for a good knife set, so they won't fall apart or anything.It has all the knives you would use regularly, and then some. The chef's knife is not as good as the $150 one I purchased awhile ago, so I don't use that, and feel bad about it, because it is such a good knife, but it looks better than my black one in the set. The only thing I might point out is that the paring knife is on the large side. There are two paring type knives (3.5 and 5 inches), and a longer 'slicing' knife. I would have rather had a 2 or 2.5 inch paring knife instead of the long 7 inch knife. Overall though, very nice set, and all extremely good, sharp knives.This would make a fantastic gift for someone in need of a good set. They work well and look great. They even come in a nice looking box, not just brown cardboard. (see picture)

Nice knife set
I really like this kitchen knife set. The blades are nice and sharp. I really like the feel of the handles, which to me.I think is very important. They fit my smaller hands really nicely too. I really like the coloring of this as it really goes with everything. You get a really nice set for the price point. I have had no issues with washing so far.

sleek, stylish and sharp
After using my old set of cheap knives for many, many years, that won't keep an edge, I have to say, these are a nice upgrade. First, the block itself (white) is extremely attractive and clean looking, as are the knife handles themselves. They look very sleek and stylish in my kitchen. The knives feel nice in my hand, and the weight feels very balanced. I only hand wash my knives immediately after use, then dry and put away immediately, so I cannot speak to dishwasher safety, but no good knives should ever go through a dishwasher anyway. They seem very sharp and time will tell how long they keep their sharpness, but so far, so good. The kitchen shears are terrible though, wouldn't cut at all. I have a better set, so the shears may end up in the thrift bin, but I like the knives too much to take away a star for the shears. They're a good value for the money, (everything is expensive these days), and if they last me for years, which I hope they will with good care, they're worth it.

Terrific set and love that the handles are distinctive!
Update: Just used this set for a lot of cooking and am really enjoying the fine quality of the knives. Very pleased I got it and replaced my old knives. Again the distinctive white handles are great so everyone knows they belong to this set and go in the block.Love that you get a complete set for all your needs. Everything cuts great and I love that the instruction booklet tells you exactly what each knife is for and gives tips--perfect for a new bride or anyone learning to cook. The block and handles are more of an off white color, not a true white. But I do love that the handles of the knives stand out easily so you know which knives go in the block (I have an old block on my counter but also other knives in the drawers and everyone mixes them up putting them away--so this new set should solve that problem). The footprint of the block is not small but if you have the room it does keep your drawers from getting battered, your knives safer and sharper, and makes cooking faster than having to open a drawer and search for a knife. Also love that each knife is labeled with the brand name and type of knife it is for non-kitchen experts like me.Also, it is so handy that they include a scissor!
