This is a wonderful knife!!!! The other reviews complaining of an uncomfortable handle are ridiculous. The handle has a different shape than what you might be used to. Just takes a little time to adjust. It has extremely fine grooves in it and a tapered bolster for your pinch grip. Its shape doesn't allow it to spin in your hand. The knife stays upright for perfect cuts.This knife is incredibly sharp. Make sure you respect it. It's pretty light weight About the same as a 8" Victorinox Fibrox. Cuts through anything (I dont use it for cutting bones or frozen food) onions, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, lettuce, etc, and it works beautifully on meats. Cuts anything and everything without effort.Keep it clean (wipe with a sponge and dish detergent in warm water), dry and use a sheath or edge protector. No other maintenance is needed.Never put this in a dishwasher. Never put any knife in dishwasher! The force of a dishwasher spray, the heat it generates, and the chemicals from dishwasher detergent are hamful to knife steel. :-( Cardinal Sin!! And as far as sharpening.....I've not had to sharpen it yet. Just quickly use my honing steel before/after each use. The core steel (8CR) isn't quite as good as VG10, Aus 10, 10CR or 9CR but it's pretty darn close. If you're not working in a commercial kitchen or restaurant 8-10 hours a day, you should just enjoy this tool.How can you possibly beat the price on a real Damascus Knife? I highly recommend....coming from a guy with a collection of Damascus knives

Yes the handle is uncomfortable but you can wrap or sand it smooth. I'm still giving it 5 stars because overall this is the best knife I have purchased in years and for around 10 bucks this is an absolute steal. The blade itself is super sharp and sturdy. The weight is distributed very well for me. I have 6 other great knives but find myself only reaching for this one. Honestly my favorite knife atm and will absolutely recommend this knife to beginners to professional. Just try it you'll see what I mean.
