Beautiful cleaver, but not up to the task.

The cleaver was able to handle chicken bones, but not beef ribs. The cleaver chipped in the middle of the blade. See attached image. I would only recommend this cleaver if you plan on mounting on the wall as art. I'm going to shop my local Asian market for a more durable cleaver.Note: Although the period for a refund had lapsed with Amazon, the manufacturer contacted me concerning a replacement or a refund for this cleaver. I have updated the overall rating from 1 star to 4 stars, because I am very satisfied with the resolution initiated by the manufacturer.
