We have a pretty well-rounded set of kitchen knives. And as a vegetarian, a meat cleaver never seemed like a knife that we needed to have in our collection. Turns out, we were mistaken. This beautiful stainless steel knife is balanced like a fine surgical instrument. It is an absolute joy to hold and to use. Now, one might wonder what a vegetarian would use a cleaver for. We have found it makes fast work of chopping carrots, cutting sweet and baking potatoes, celery and cabbage. It slices apples and oranges nicely as well.We've found that rather than washing with our regular dishes, it's more practical to just wipe it off with a wet wash cloth, dry and replace it in the box it came in.Overall opinion - this is a wonderful knife at a very reasonable cost.

Solid, balanced blade and it is very sharp. This is my first clever knife and I really like it. Cuts through meat easily, its weight and sharpness just glides through. You don't need to apply much force at all. Highly recommend. I'm using the hole in the top to just hang it on the wall.
