This one's a keeper
I've had a bunch of different butter dishes over the years. This is my favorite. I usually get rid of them after a few years, for various reasons. But this one, I think, is a keeper.One of the things I like best about it is that it's wide enough to hold both the skinny American sticks and the wider European sticks. That's a first for me.I actually like that it hides the butter, unlike some glass or plastic alternatives. And I like that it's ceramic, which cleans up easily and nicely. It might be less airtight than the ones where you invert the dish into a bowl of water. But it's also less of a pain in the butt to use. As Thomas Sowell likes to say, there are no solutions, only trade-offs.I love the blue, which is darker than the color you see on a lot of similarly decorated ceramic items. This is almost a navy blue, which is my favorite color.The only thing I would change about it would be to make the loop (handle) a little larger, and easier to grasp (and consequently harder to drop by accident). Otherwise, it's lovely and functional, which is a great combination.

Beautiful and useful, holds plenty of butter.
This is absolutely beautiful. I will be using it for dinner parties, or as a table serving butter dish because it's so pretty. Also, it holes a lot of butter, one of those large blocks, or two full sticks. Either way it's the perfect size for guests, without having to refill it for large family dinners or company. We will get years of use from this. It came so well packaged there is no way it could be broken, honestly. It arrived perfect. I couldn't be happier.
