Compact, narrow side easy fits an east coast size of butter and then stores without problem on a narrow, 2 3/4" wide refrigerator shel.f Not an airtight seal, but stores butter nicely without air leakage or seepage.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Butter Hub butter dish. The plastic is thick and sturdy and I like it. Not at all flimsy. The top is translucent plastic about 1/4 inch thick. It has little rubber like strips that act as feet on the bottom part so it does not easily slip when you are using it. Very clever with the little "ski" slopes at the ends to easily clean off the knife or grasp the butter pat after cutting. It looks very contemporary in design and I will order another. I am replacing my Rubbermaid butter dishes from maybe 25-30 years ago! Yes, it was time to upgrade and these fit the bill.
I kick myself for not having purchased one of these butter dishes years ago. Instead, I tolerated the cheap, clear plastic dish that came with our frig, where I could see the butter sticking to the insides and the butter cube sometimes slipped off when I was trying to cut hard butter. This black dish hides the butter mess, fits nicely in the butter alcove in my frig door, and doesn't slide around when I cut the butter because it has rubber on the bottom. We have put it in the dishwasher multiple times and it continues to look great. Unlike my old cheapie, the lid doesn't try to slide off when I pull the dish out of the frig. I just wish they were available in more interesting colors; I was afraid the white would yellow with time. A bright yellow or bright blue or red would be nice.
It has room enough for a stick of butter . But it does seem small , like being in a cramped room .
I was looking for something to hold my butter outside the fridge. I didn't want to soften butter and stuff it into a round container. Seemed like too much effort for a stick of butter. This butter dish works perfectly holding 1 stick of butter at a time. The lid stays on and the rounded ends are good for scraping the butter off the dish. Keeps the butter covered and room temperature. This makes it easy to spread! Good product.
This is GREAT! It is well made, and looks nice on my counter top. My favorite feature is the no mess lid; even if you get butter on the edges, the little feet keep it from smearing on the counter. It took a while to get used to not having to flip it over to keep the surface clean. I really like the sloped sides for scraping the butter up. The only thing I would change would be to add measurement lines.Easy to wash in the dishwasher, and still looks great.
I like having the lid attached so it just opens up and rhw lid never gets lost in the abyss of lids.
