This butterfly cutter is beautiful and so handy.

I tried this on a full stick of cold butter. The product is just large enough for a standard size butter stick. It makes 18 cuts simultaneously and requires quite a bit of force, which is normal. However, the handles flex quite a bit while applying this force. It seems that the frame should have been heavy enough to take the stress without bending. It might be easier if the butter has time soften a bit or if it is cut into half sticks before slicing. Haven't tried it on hard cheese but it would probably work fine on smaller pieces.
So, it didn’t cut cheese too easy, but maybe the cheese needed to be at room temp and I haven’t tried it since. It will cut through butter very easy, and the butter knife is very nice. Sheen of metal is appealing and doesn’t look cheap either
