Excellent Quality & Weight, Perfect Fit Snap On Lids, Cooks Well in Microwave, Lids Not For Oven Use

My old plastic wear is wearing out. I have some with cracked lids, the glass ones don't have lids, and I have an abundance of 6 ounce containers and very few this size so when I saw these I thought I would give them a try.These are heavy duty, high quality storage containers. When I unpacked them, I was immediately impressed by their weight and the crispness of the clasp on the lids. They are lunch sized, non-leaking and you can even cook in them.I had to refer back to the listing as to their oven readiness as they don't have any markings on the bottom as our glass cookware does in the U.S.They are made of borosilicate glass so very durable and you can transition them from oven to table. The listing says you can cook a chicken in them, but not unless its a 2 pound chicken. They are lunch box sized, not casserole dish size.The lids have a firm snap on each of the four sides of the lid frames which are made of plastic, so while you can microwave the dishes with the lids on and vented, you can't put the lids in a conventional oven.The dishes and lids fit easily in the dishwasher, but as with most plastics, the lids stay on the top dishwasher rack, to ensure a long life.In the cabinet, they easily stack, either assembled or just inside one another. Whether you use them for daily lunch at work or for cooking and storing portions for later use, these are a very well made option.

Great glass containers for your lunch meals

For decades I have been using various plastic based meal storage containers. I have suffered through plastic breakdown and discoloration (most from acidic meals made with tomato sauce). I finally decided to move away from plastic and use glass instead. My grades hurdles to overcome this decision is the added weight when carrying the storage container, as well as taking up more space in the cabinet since they are thicker walled as well. Both of these are part of the benefit though as well of using these.This three storage container set, with glass based lids is my step to exchanging my lunch containers. The three rectangular containers are the perfect size to carry a meal to work for reheating. The lid, contains a special valve which allows you to heat the container with the lid in place, letting hot expanding air escape.The lids close tightly and firmly on the container, preventing spillage in transport.If you are not used to glass containers, do take care as these will also be a bit hotter than plastic containers when heated in the microwave.Cleaning is easy, the container amd lid can both go in the dishwasher. Of course you will not have the discoloration or breakdown issue which in itself makes these worth their while.

The problem with most of them is that the way the covers are designed, with molded ribs as a replacement for a proper gasket, the snaps on the sides are very difficult to use. My wife usually needs me to snap the clips on the ends.THESE have large soft gaskets that squish easily to allow easy clamping, and they seal securely. There will be no leakage as long as the gasket in in place.BONUS FEATURE:There is a rubber plug attached by a tether that you can pop out to ventilate. This is handy when microwaving something but containing the splatters, and also when storing leafy greens or blueberries that are wet and they need to dry out a little in the cold fridge before you pop the plug in.The CONS:One of the three containers had a gasket that was out of place. I pushed it into the groove and it stayed in place. It didn’t pop out again. If I was packing soup, I would always check that the gasket had not popped out, or you will be pretty crabby when your soup dribbles all over your clothes/ briefcase/ or lunchbox.I will add to this review if the gasket pops out again.SUMMARY:These seem VERY well made, they are packaged well and will arrive undamaged.I think that they will last a long time. They are a bit pricey, but that is because they are higher quality than the alternatives, and should be useful for many years.2025-10-07-ww

Solid Containers With Great Lids, Except Vent Can Be A Point Of Failure

These containers are strong. I dropped them and it didn't shatter. The lids seal is tight and I was able to put in soup and it did not spill from the edges of the container. However the little vent did rub against another container and it popped off the little vent opening and caused it to leak through the little vent hole. Also upon washing them I did not notice the rubber silicone had fallen out. It is not well attached. I do love the size and durability, but that little vent kinda ruins it. The vent seems like a good idea, but in practice it does not work. Maybe if they have a tighter fit so the silicone cap on the vent doesnt come off as easy or just remove it all together in future iterations of the product.

Really Like The Lids

At $39.82 these 335 ounce glass containers are expensive. But I really like the sturdy detachable lid with the silicone seal. The silicone vent is great for steaming rice. The glass is dirty and can be microwaved stuck in the oven. But the real showcase is the lid. These lids are some of the most sturdy well-made lids I’ve ever felt. They’re made to last. The size is perfect for taking lunch. They are dishwasher safe very easy to clean. I live on an island and spaces at a premium so storage can be an issue because they do take up a lot of storage space because they don’t stack well. For me they are expensive but the lid is well worth it.
