Tiny investment for an elevated kitchen experience. Beautifully non-scratch
Am I reviewing a $13 wooden spoon at 12:06 am? Yes, yes I am. Could I have purchased the $2 plastic ones from Walmart and cooked the same meal? Of course. Does this do anything to improve my cooking? Unlikely. Do I feel just a little bit more special stirring my spaghetti sauce using this? Heck yeah!The quality is very nice, the wood is thick and beautifully burled and grained. The finish is smooth and it is easy to clean. It doesn't scratch your cookware and won't melt if you let it sit for too long. It cleans up great. I have hand washed it and tossed it in the dishwasher (don't tell my mom) and it comes out clean and fine every time. I do every so often rub in a dab of olive or avocado oil because it just feels like that's the right thing to do for a wooden utensil (I make my own rules here) and it looks really pretty in my crock on my counter.

Solid kitchen tool with one design quirk
This utensil is great overall. It has a good weight and size to it that feels comfortable and balanced in hand, which makes cooking a little more enjoyable. I wash it easily by hand and it holds up well with regular use.My only complaint, and the reason I docked a star, is the end of the handle. It is slanted instead of rounded, and that creates an edge that can dig into your hand when you are pushing food around or doing something like chopping up ground beef. That edge can get uncomfortable after a bit of time at the stove.Despite that design quirk it still does its job well, and for the price the performance feels like good value for the money. If the handle end were a bit smoother this utensil might be near perfect, but even as is it is a solid tool worth having in your kitchen drawer.

A piece of nature on my stovetop!
I have been trying to replace my plastic kitchen accessories with natural products, and that is why I decided to purchase this 13-inch olive wood spoon. I have always been an outdoorsy person, and the unique grain pattern on this thing is honestly really nice to look at.It is really durable and long enough that I can use it to reach into deep pots without worrying about it breaking or anything like that.
