Calphalon Doesn’t Disappoint – High Quality, Comfortable Grater with Great Performance! 5+ Stars!
I was very excited when I saw I could acquire the Calphalon Stainless Steel Handheld Grater for several reasons.First, Calphalon has a long-standing reputation for producing excellent kitchen equipment, and I expected the same level of quality from their utensils. Second, I was thrilled to find a hand grater with a long, ergonomic handle. The short-handled stainless-steel grater I currently own is workable, but uncomfortable to use due to my carpal tunnel and arthritis. Third, while my long-handled zester works beautifully for citrus, it shreds cheese extremely finely rather than truly grating it. While that may seem like a minor distinction, it absolutely matters depending on the application - finely shredded cheese is great for mac and cheese, but properly grated cheese works better for tacos, lasagna, baked ziti, quiches, etc.The heavy-gauge stainless steel construction and sharp blades give the grater excellent stability and durability. It handles firm cheeses like Parmesan as well as softer ones like Cheddar with ease, without flexing under pressure. The silhouette takes up little room in my kitchen drawer, and the plastic protective sheath adds an important layer of safety - especially when little hands (and my own) are reaching into drawers.Most importantly, the ergonomic design truly delivers when it comes to comfort. Using this grater was noticeably easier on my hands and wrists than others I’ve owned.I included a picture to show the difference between the results of my rasp vs. the Calphalon grater on Cheddar cheese. The finely shredded cheddar on the left was made using my rasp, while the right side shows the perfectly grated cheddar produced by the Calphalon, which was exactly the result I was looking for!On a scale of 1 - 10, I confidently rate this 10+ and would give it 10 stars if I could. I know this will be a well-used kitchen utensil and one that I fully expect to last for years. I recommend it without any reservation.

Sharp, Sturdy Graters That Actually Make Grating Easier
I grabbed this two-piece set because I was tired of using my old box grater, which takes up way too much space and is annoying to clean. These handheld graters are so much better for everyday use, especially when I just need to shred some parmesan or zest a lemon without dragging out all the bulky kitchen equipment. The set comes with two different sizes, and honestly, having both means I can use the right grater for whatever I'm doing instead of settling for something that doesn't quite fit the job.The blades are genuinely sharp, which makes a real difference. When I grate cheese it doesn't get stuck in the teeth or require a ton of pressure. The same goes for zesting citrus, which is pretty quick and clean. Amazing Grater & Zester Duo.
I have been wanting a zester for awhile, but haven't found one I really liked.When I saw that this was a set (hello bonus cheese grater!), AND they came with collection backs, I was sold.I love how the backs slide on; it makes them so secure, and very easy to use and clean. I had a grater prior with a back that snapped on, and it was very irritating to use.The zester makes a quick job of any zesting that needs to be done. I was able to zest an entire lemon in around a minute or less!The cheese grater is perfect to use for parmesan, as it makes the fancy little curls like restaurants.Both are very easy to clean; I hand wash mine quickly.My only worry is the soft touch handles, as it feels like the type of material that may eventually get tacky; only time will tell.So far, these have been awesome and exactly what I wanted! The price is well worth it.

I am really excited with Calphalon's newest line of utensils. This zester feel weighty, worked well and fits my hand really nicely. The holes are bigger than my microplane and sharp enough to take just the right amount of zest off the lime I tested it on. It cleaned up beautifully in the dishwasher and is great quality - I feel like it's durable and I will have it for a very long time.
