Beautiful, Easy To Hold Calphalon Slotted Spoon with Beefy Silicone Non-Slip Handle
I wanted to get my kitchen utensils organized as I had a mish mash of different materials. I looked at a lot of different brands because my goal was to standardize on a single brand as much as possible, so a large range of utensils from the brand is important. I chose to go with this Calphalon range of utensils, and specifically the silicone handled line.➡️ FIRST A COUPLE FYI'S⚠️ RIGHT NOW THE LISTING DETAILS REFERENCE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PRODUCT. If it looks okay to you now, it's been updated. This might just be a timing issue as Vine Voices like me get products when they are newly available, and sometimes before the listing details are actually updated to match the product weeks afterward.✅ CALPHALON JUST RELEASED TWO NEW UTENSIL LINES, ONE WITH SILICONE HANDLES AND ONE WITH BRUSHED STAINLESS STEEL HANDLES.➜ IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO STANDARDIZE ON A SINGLE UTENSIL LINE, and want to compare the aluminum handles versus the silicone handles like this one, you might want to check out my reviews on Calphalon Spatulas (which they call "turners" for some odd reason). I got a slotted spatula with the silicone handle and then a standard spatula with the aluminum handle.⭐ NOW THE LONGFORM REVIEW ⭐➡️ ALL THESE NEW CALPHALON UTENSILS OFFER A "LIMITED 5 YEAR WARRANTY"➜ This is really good for utensils, but not the standard Calphalon lidetime cookware warranty (which I actually used to replace a 20 year old pot, believe it or not)!➡️ THIS SLOTTED SPOON IS BEAUTIFUL!➜ This slotted spoon is a stunner! I mean, if you had a thing for slotted spoons, you would seek out this spoon for sure!➜ The navy handle has a beefy, rounded angular shape, with a chic branded brushed aluminum end cap. The brushed aluminum of the spoon starts about halfway down the handle and is molded in one piece with the spoon.➡️ THE HANDLE IS REALLY EASY TO USE AND HOLD.➜ This spoon feels hefty but not uncomfortably so. It feels more "reliable" to me.➜ I like the rounded square shape as I don't have to grip this as tightly as other utensils. It just feels easy to hold.➡️ GREAT FOR DISHING OUT PASTA OR DUMPLINGS: GOOD WHEN KIDDOS AND PUPS ARE AROUND!➜ I don't strain pasta with a colander, mostly because I'm usually adding it directly to a pan with sauce to finalize the pasta cooking. Also I sometimes want to add a little pasta water to the pan with the sauce.➜ But, okay, probably the biggest reason I stopped straining my pasta in he sink is that I really don't like carrying a pot of boiling water to my sink, even though it's a couple feet away. I had a close call once with a pup+toddler Olympic gymnastics routine (I think that's what they were going for), and yea, since then, I just use a slotted spoon and dump out the cool water after the meal.➜ The spoon itself has a pretty deep bowl, which I appreciate.➜ The non-slip handle comes in handy when I'm using this to scoop up pasta from steamy water.➡️⚠️ THIS SPOON IS MARKED ON "HAND WASH RECOMMENDED" ON THE BACKER CARD ATTACHED TO THE SPOON.➜ I've noticed a lot of listing details show this incorrectly, but it's clearly marked hand wash only.➜ Even when hand washing, I avoid submerging this, since I think water could seep in where the metal attaches to the silicone on the handle.➡️ I AM A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT DURABILITY SINCE THIS IS HAND WASH ONLY, BUT WHEN I USE THIS, I DO SUBMERGE IT BRIEFLY TO GET PASTA OUT OF THE POT.➜ I haven't had any issues yet, but I'm glad this has a warranty.Overall, I like this slotted spoon a lot, and it's definitely an upgrade to my old plastic slotted spoon. It's very functional and beautiful, which works well for us.

This stainless steel spoon is quite well-designed. I know it's easy to think that a spoon is just a spoon, but this one deserves commendation for being well-designed and great to use. My mom actually came by, picked it up off the kitchen counter, and asked where I got it and called it "a good spoon." So it's got my recommendation AND my mom's!The handle is a great length. It's long enough to stir even in a stewpot, but it's not so long that it's awkward to use and to hold. The cushioned grip is easy on the hand and feels ergonomic. It also means that heat doesn't travel up the handle. I can use it as easily in a shallow skillet as I can in a deep pot, and that alone can make this an instant go-to. I love having a multipurpose spoon that doesn't require me to dig through the drawer to find the exact spoon I need for a given pot or pan.The spoon part itself is a good depth. It works well for stirring or for serving. It scoops well for pasta and soups alike, and it serves cleanly. The metal itself-- the spoon and the handle-- is very sturdy and solid, with no give at all. It's a million times better than any plastic spoon. The stainless steel is also solid and sturdy without being heavy, which is another real plus when you're serving dense stews and soups-- no added weight.A further bonus is that it's dishwasher-safe, which is always great. I like kitchen tools that are thoughtfully designed for everyday use, and this one is, from stirring to serving to cleaning. I would buy this again, no questions, and I'll seek out kitchen utensils from this brand in the future. I'm sold, in other words. There's an art to making simple things just perfect, and Calphalon nailed it with this spoon.

Great heavy duty spoon
I have several serving spoons, but none really seem to be sturdy and nice looking. Some are one, some are the other and some are neither. Calphalon has always been a good brand, so I was happy to try it out. This spoon is nice looking and very sturdy. You can pick up heavy items without worrying about the spoon bending and snapping. I made Sunday gravy (a hearty pasta meal with five different meats in it) last week. When it is refrigerated and you start to put it on individual plates to reheat a small spoon can be difficult as it is heavy and already set in its way with its pasta buddies and doesn't want to move. This spoon took it to the next level and made easy work out of scooping it out. (I know you shouldn't use metal spoons in my good pan, but it was me and trust me I was careful). Great spoon for a great value.
