This opener had a decent blade, and once you get going it is pretty smooth. It does slip a little bit, which is surprising. If there's one thing that shouldn't be an issue with this style of opener it's leverage; you shouldn't have to bear down so much on the fulcrum. All in all, though, it functions well and isn't terribly difficult use, even with the slipping.

This can opener has been great for my daily cooking. It feels strong and solid and it cuts through cans smoothly without leaving sharp edges. I really like the magnetic feature. It lifts the lid right off so I don’t have to touch it or worry about dropping it in the food. The handle is soft and comfortable to grip. The large knob is easy to turn, and I don’t have to use much force. It’s a real all-in-one tool and fits nicely in my drawer. Good Can Opener

My old one was rusting, so this is a great replacement. The handle turns smoothly, and opens cans with ease. Make sure you clean these and dry them properly. One of the reasons I had to replace my old was one improper care - the metal around the teeth started to rust. So clean and then immediately dry these with a cloth best you can to reduce any potential rust. I'll update this review if I start to see any despite proper care.This also doubles as a bottle opener and a magnet (to grab the lid - a bit gimmicky in my opinion but I can see the merit when you're scared to lift the jagged lid).

It cuts very nicely and is easy to turn. I did notice that the lids still have a few jagged edges, so it's not quite the safety opener it says. But they're not terrible and easy enough to handle. Nice, sturdy handles that don't feel like they will bend or snap. I would reorder and I do recommend it.

If you mostly use an electric can opener, it's still wise to have a manual can opener as a backup plan in case you lose power. It's never a bad idea to have multiple can openers. It's one of those gadgets that you take for granted, but if you need one - they are priceless.This can opener arrives in its own box which will make it easy if you wanted to gift this to a friend or family member. At the time I received this can opener it was priced at $8 which is a reasonable and competitive price for a can opener.But keep in mind this is an “old-school” can opener and will leave a sharp edge on the lid after opening. They now sell can openers that leave smooth edges on open lids - this is not one of them.
