Works just as it should. Made chocolate fudge for Christmas and I liked the pot holder on it. I was able to tell the candy temperature constantly and at a glance which is important when making candy. So much easier than the water method. I can't say if it will keep working, but it did when I used it. Good deal. The probe was nice and long. Some of them had short probes that wouldn't have worked. The dial was easy to read to.

For some reason I was always very hesitant to use a candy thermometer. I think at some point in my life I saw one explode and it just kind of scarred me. However this one is very easy to use, I love that it comes with the clip to attach it to the side of the pan. It gives a very accurate reading and it is definitely worth the price.
Exactly what I thought I was purchasing... works great...readability and size is good for frying in a tall pot...
Works accurate reading
Easy to read the dashes were a little difficult to read the dial could have been bigger to make reading easy. The hook the holds it on the pot isn't the best design for use on all pots. It wouldn't hold well on my pots. Numbers could have been a little bigger but cost wasn't bad for the product. Temp accuracy seemed right.
This thermometer was the worst. This was the first time I used it. The clip didn't stay on the pan. It flipped off and the tip with the hot candy on it hit me and burned my wrist. The red arrow just swirls around. You have to read the thermometer and not just heat to the arrow. I had to quick get my old thermometer which is easier to read even if it doesn't stay on the pan, either. Unfortunately, I expected it to be better and didn't save the box, so I can't return it. I don't know if it's accurate, since I didn't get the candy to temperature with it.
