I thought I got a good deal on these. They were bought as a housewarming gift for one of my clients and he was very happy with them. They have a nice modern look without looking too utilitarian. Comes in a nice box.
FANTASTIC knife set for the price. Handles are beautiful, knives are balanced, and these three are all you really need.Also insanely sharp, like the weight of the knives alone is enough to cut through bell peppers, and showing no signs of dulling any time.
These knives aren't name brand, but the quality might as well be! They're really well balanced and cut through tomatos like butter. They look great, too! I feel like the price point they're asking is comparable to namebrand cutlery though, so I'm taking off one star. They're really nice though, and I feel like they'll probably deliver years (decades?) of worry-free use.
The middle sized serrated one might now be my favorite knife.These are good quality knives. Nice and sharp. Felt perfect in my hand. I cut potatos and eggplant with ease the first time I used these, and they are still going strong.They come in a nice case, which for me, is not really needed, as I immediately added these to my knife block. But if you are giving these as a gift, I guess the case is nice.Handwash only.
Great knife set. They are sharp and easy to hold since they have a large handle area. They look expensive too, and come in a wooden carrying case which is nice if giving as a gift. I haven’t had any issues using them these past couple of months. Not heavy when using and has a good even balance when cutting.
I love all of my Cangshan knives, they are extremely well made and razor sharp. These particular knives have a longer handle than many of the others which I really like, they are also very nice looking in addition to being comfortable. I find this to be one of the most comfortable handles on all of my Cangshan knives. As with all of my other knives they are extremely sharp and cut with very minimal effort. They are very well made and I am extremely happy with this set. The paring knife in my set does have a spot where the grind isnt quite even, but it doesnt have any impact on its use or performance.Im very happy with them and would happily suggest Cangshan to anyone who wants some exceptional knives.
Over all they seem like they are well made. The only thing I noticed is the wooden handles are slightly undersized where they meet the steel. I don't know if the wood wasn't completely dry before final sanding or if Cangshan expects the wood to swell slightly once in a kitchen environment. It's very minor. The knives aren't cheap.For the price I would have expected a blade protector. Two of the 3 knives moved a bit inside the box. Being as sharp as they are they sliced the foam insert. Once in use I don't see most people keeping them in the box. The steak knife doesn't really need one but the other two should have protection. If it was a complete set they would live in a knife block but being just three they are most likely going to live in a kitchen drawer.The knives are very sharp looking (designwise). They feel nice in the hand while cutting. But not being dishwasher safe will limit how often I use the pairing knife. I do understand though. The steel is most likely is stainless but it can still rust. Also the wooden handle can get damaged.
