High quality, excellent knife set
I have been wanting an "adult" kitchen knife set for a while. I have some cheap kitchen knives but I wanted something thats excellent quality, made to last. I believe this is what I've been searching for!This is a seven piece set: you get five knives, a sharpening tool, and the knife holder. I'm not well versed in the different types of knifes (the exact type & measurements are listed on the manufacturer's page) but they are varying lengths. I think this is a nice basic set that most people would find useful. I know I'll be able to use each knife included in this set.The knives are steel- they are solidly made, you can tell they are high quality. I would describe them as heavy duty. The handles are easy to grip & use safely. As this is my first 'real' knife set I am not sure how long you wait in between sharpening so I'll have to figure that out the more I use them. But it's nice knowing that these can be sharpened and that they are made for long-term use.The holder is bamboo and it too is very high-quality. Its solid- the knives easily fit in the slots in such a way that the blades are protected for safety. This holder is described as something that will fit in a drawer and if I had the room in a drawer I know it would! But it looks very nice on a counter in my kitchen as well.I looked on the manufacturer's page for washing instructions and didn't see any. I would imagine that these are a hand wash item- that is how I intend to clean them just for the sake of preserving them as much as possible.Overall, I rated this item 5 out of 5 stars hands down. I'm impressed by the quality of this set. This is something that has been built to last and to maintain its quality over time. I think its priced reasonably for what you receive...you get what you pay for! So spending a bit more up front for an item that I believe is made to last is worth it. This is really a nice set- if you have someone that loves cooking this would make a lovely gift. I definitely recommend this item! Great value & great quality!
