These things are sharp, my wife cut herself the 1st day even after I warned her. They are great quality, they look and feel great. We got them on sale so it was a great value. Been using g them over a month and have had no issue with rust.
I bought these knives for my wife for Valentine's Day 2021. Her Henckel knives were done and I wanted to get her something a bit more fancy and just a significant upgrade in general. I did thorough research on Cangshan knives and was satisfied enough by what I read and saw to pull the trigger on this particular knife set. My wife loved the knives and they completely complimented our dark wood cabinets and white subway tile backsplash. These knives are durable, sharp and have great heft. They don't just look good, they perform well. Pulling them out of their wood block sounds like you're unsheathing a sword; no joke, you get that "Shinggg" sound. I was a bit reluctant to buy these knives because of the significant price tag, but as a premium consumer, I'm all too familiar with getting what you pay for. Lets see how they hold up.
BE CAREFUL - Everything about these knives feels the way you’d hope they would and you’re not going to want to put them down. The only danger in this is that they are insanely sharp and you can very easily slice your finger if you’re not really paying attention to what you’re doing. We’ve been using them for several months now and don’t have a single complaint about the knives themselves. The chopping block is beautiful but we are noticing a little wear on some of the holes where you slide the knives in - which is to be expected. Overall, we are beyond pleased with this purchase and would recommend to anyone who wants the look, feel, and sharpness of higher end knives, without having to break the bank. Yes, they are more expensive than other sets, but we feel like they are absolutely worth it.
This is a great set that appears to be very well made and the blades are super sharp too. Hoping these last for many years to come and would expect them to.
These are quality knives. Super sharp at a fairly reasonable price. Just don't ever put a quality knife in a dishwasher. They have a very solid handle and are easy to sharpen. Our family now has three sets.
First the good. The knives are sharp and seem to be of decent quality. They have a good feel in the hand. The kitchen shears are especially nice. The steak knives are a bit oversized and clunky, but they are sharp and will do the job. Hopefully there will be no bloodletting at the dining table.Now the bad. The set does not look like the picture. I personally dislike it when a company stamps their name in oversize font on the front of their product. It looks cheap, like how a Ginsu knife set would be marketed. When shopping for knives, I avoided sets that did this. I happened upon the Cangshan set, and the picture showed only their logo on the front and looked lovely. However, when I opened the box, there was the company stamp front and center on the knife block. Add to this that the handles are not shiny like in the picture but are instead a matte, whitish color, and I nearly sent this back.My husband likes how they cut and thought the handles weren't so bad, so we are keeping the set. Still, it is a big disappointment, aesthetically.
Love the quality looks, design, and specially the sharpness durability of these knifes. The set selection cover most applications that you would need in a kitchen from filetting to chopping, etc. Basically anything you need there a knife for you to use.Warning: these knifes come extremely sharp out of the bag, so be very careful when handling. The sharpness will retain for a long time before needing any re-sharping. Even with daily used my knifes are still very sharp since bought (6 months by now if I'm not mistaken).The only negative (very subjective) is the wood block color...too dark for my taste. The knifes have a white pearl handle and the very dark color of the wood, specially in my kitchen which is all a mixture of white and cream color combinations makes a contrast that is not to my liking. Cangshan should offer a light wood color choice. I had to sand and bleach the wood block to lighten it as much as possible. Other than that the wood block is of quality wood that will last longer than I.
