Knife is razor sharp and real sharp looking. It has a nice smooth feel to it when you hold it. Perfectly balanced in your hand. Comes with a protective cover that fits over the blade, which I really like that so much to protect myself from the blade but to protect the blade from being dulled by getting touched from other objects. I’ve been using it pretty regularly for a couple of weeks now and honing it after each use and it remains razor sharp. I absolutely love it. Full disclosure, I am a knife junkie and appreciate this knife

An EXCELLENT Paring Knife, With a Damascus Steel Look But Not Damascus Steel Itself

This is a very sharp, nicely balanced and easy to hold paring knife. It has graduated to be my favorite paring knife after only one use! An extra over-the-top benefit is the excellent magnetic sheath. It is small, non-flexible and has a magnet inside it to grip the top of the blade, preventing the sharp edge of the blade from scraping along the inside of the sheath. Wonderful!The handle of this blade fits perfectly in my hand and the tang of the knife stretches all the way through the handle and caps off its end. The handle is made of something called “G10,” and while I have no idea what that is, it feels wonderful in my hand. Two decorated copper rivets attach the handle to the knife.When I first tested the sharpness of the knife (by pulling crosswise on it with my thumb) it seemed that one side was sharper than the other. I gave a few pulls of a steel over the blade and tried it again. I couldn’t tell the difference after that. Who knows why, but I don’t really care. It cut thin slices of a soft tomato, which is a very good thing.The care directions that came along with this knife were excellent. They were written by someone who knew how to care for a knife to keep it sharp, undamaged and unstained. It was good to see that!Finally, I’ll get to the first thing that I noticed when I saw this blade for sale. I remember the description saying that this was a 67 layer Damascus steel blade. That puzzled me because, as I understand it, a Damascus steel blade would always have an even number of layers. I won’t bother describing how a Damascus steel blade is made (I encourage you to look it up. It’s fascinating!). In any case, as I write my review the corrected description now says it is made of “proprietary X-7 Damascus Steel.” That’s still a bit misleading as the box says the blade has a “striking 67-layer Damascus pattern.” Now that’s naming it correctly (it seems to me), for there is a Damascus-like wavy pattern on the blade. In any case, I’m not all that concerned as the whole knife, blade, heft and look is awesome.

Nice addition to my quality knife collection

I've never had good knives until a few months ago. I did not know what I was missing! I obtained a high quality chef's knife and it's almost magic how it slices through food easily. That was followed by a bread knife. And now this paring knife. I'm not a knife connoisseur, so I can't speak to technical details or compare it to others, but it just cuts so easily! I've always loved to cook, but now I look for reasons to need to chop things. No, it's not cheap. But if you take care of them (don't put them in the dishwasher, put the sleeve on when storing, etc.) they'll last forever. I'm just so sorry I waited until my 50s to get good knives.

This isn't Damascus steel.

Real Damascus steel is hand made by hammering and folding steel and then acid etching to bring out the grain pattern of the folds. This process increasses strength and ductility of steel and has a distincitve and appealing look. This is made by laser engraving a pattern that kind of looks like Damascus and is meant to intentionally mislead buyers. Caveat emptor.

Quality Knife

You can instantly tell that this is a quality knife as soon as you pick it up. At first I wasn’t sure if the design on the knife was imprinted or if it was from the layers of steel, but according to the product description, this knife if made with 67 layers of steel. It reminds me of a knife made on the reality TV show, Forged in Fire. The knife has a lot of weight to it and the handle is sturdy and well balanced. The blade itself is very sharp and cuts easily. This knife is very nice

Super sharp and light, this knife is extremely easy to use. I used it for large prep as well as small because it was such a pleasure to use. Then I used it to cut my steak. The wooden sheath is magnetized and really helps with storage, protects both the blade and your fingers while in the knife drawer. The handle is well balanced, smooth and beautiful.

This knife is razor sharp and it comes with a sheath that is magnetized - how cool is that? It also has a great handle and is really nice looking. I wish I had an entire set to match this nice little knife.
