Fantastic Bread Knife!

My wife and I recently used the Cangshan NAKA Series 503060 X-7 Steel Forged 9-inch Offset Bread Knife, and we both came to the same conclusion. This is the very best bread knife that we have EVER used. No kidding! For what ever it is worth, we own a genuine Shun bread knife, and I would rate it very good. However, the Cangshan bread knife is actually better!I was totally shocked when I first held the Cangshan bread knife. It fit my hand perfectly. My wife also liked how the Cangshan knife fit her hand, too. It is exceptionally well balanced, and it is super sharp. The Cangshan bread knife is also expertly manufactured.Cons: The only negative associated with the Cangshan bread knife is its price. This is not an inexpensive knife. However, it definitely falls into the category of “you get what you pay for.”Summary: The Cangshan NAKA bread knife is outstanding in every way. It truly does not get any better than this. I easily rate it 5 STARS. It would be the perfect present for a family member who cooks and who already has everything. This knife would be a GREAT addition to his or her kitchen knife collection.

This knife is just awesome! It slices through bread perfectly. Not only that, it goes through tomatoes, potatoes, onions, zucchini, cucumbers...you name it; effortlessly! I can get paper-thin slices of my veggies with this knife. It has enough heft in the blade, that the blade does the work, I just hold it and guide it while it slices. I just slowly pull back while on a tomato; for example, and the weight of the knife smoothly goes through the tomato like a hot knife through butter. It is so pleasurable to go through cutting veggies quickly I can't describe it. Makes you feel like a fancy chef. :)

Wow!

I had never heard of this brand before I ordered this knife. I subsequently went through a bit of a deep dive researching the company and getting up to speed on their product lines prior to it arriving. All I have to say is wow. This knife is gorgeous and is clearly well-made. I love the way it feels in my hand, and I love the magnets on the sheath that hold it in place. I was convinced I'd be throwing that sheath away, but now I definitely will keep it.The knife is sharp enough (it's a bread knife, so it's not really supposed to be the sharpest knife in your collection), and it goes through bread better than almost any other bread knife I've used.I can't wait to try out the other products in this line that I ordered. Though the chef knife will be the true test of the line, this bread knife is great.

The Cangshan brand was unknown to me prior to obtaining this bread knife. They offer a full line of knives in the same series as this bread knife and if this knife is any indication this is a brand and series of knives to consider. I'm a bit of a knife geek and have some nice quality knives of various sorts, but was using a steak knife to cut bread. This knife is constructed of extremely high quality materials and the design is equally top-notch. The handles (scales) are extremely well fitted, which adds to the feeling of quality. The blade displays a real Damascus steel pattern, which is certainly visually striking. The offset handle is very comfortable, though might be even better if slightly larger. the serrated blade slices bread easily and perfectly. An easy 5 stars from this reviewer.
