You Get What You Pay For - Incredible Set
5 Stars – This item does everything it claims and is exceptional in some way OR is the best I've ever seen in it's category OR is exceptional value. This is one of those rare products I save my 5 stars for. First, all the photos in this ad are actual photos instead of photoshop nonsense. Their photographer did a better job than I could. I'm not adding more pictures. Their claims about Damasteel are accurate. This is a modern take on Damascus steel whereby the steel is folded in on itself over and over again but rather than being something done by hand to make Samurai swords or art pieces, it is industrially applied using modern science and machinery to create the sharpest blades I have ever used. While I've only had these a month and can only guess how long they'll stay sharp, my guess is this edge will last much longer than most knives.Several years ago I wanted to get my wife the best knives I could find. I talked to several chefs who all recommended brands from a local restaurant supply warehouse. None of those were over $40 apiece and I thought I had figured out a big secret. I learned to sharpen knives from a butcher we know. I kept those knives sharp and we were happy for years. This Cangshan Thomas Keller Signature Collection blew our socks off. These don't even feel like they should be called by the same name as other kitchen utensils. I draw my way through a steak with these like I'm cutting butter. I've thrown out all my old serrated steak knives after using these a couple times. There is a sharpness scale for knives and mine has been shifted by no small amount. If you are in the market for your first set of celebrity chef knives, these are perfection. I have no idea how these compare to other knives at this price point because I just don't have the experience. I can say that these are a beautifully executed artistic vision and are as beautiful as they are functional.

Beautiful Set
This is a beautiful set of knives. They are well made with good balance and are super sharp. The weight is perfect in your hand. I look forward to seeing how long they keep their edge. I used the paring knife to cut some strawberries and it cut like butter. They are a little on the high end of what I would usually spend but I don’t mind spending more for good quality. Overall very nice and I will update if I have any future problems.

Wonderful Knife Set
I’m an avid home cook (home “chef”, haha) and really know my way around a kitchen, but my ‘knife skills’ haven’t been the best, I always tend to cut myself somehow. So needless to say, investing in top shelf cutlery hasn’t ever been at the top of my list! Enter these Cangshan Thomas Keller Signature Collection knives…they’re amazing! These are quite easily the best set of knives I’ve had, and I don’t mind taking extra-extra care with my cutting techniques to make certain I don’t nick myself because these guys are super sharp and *precise*!Their design is simplistic and elegant. A chef’s knife, serrated utility knife (love this one), and paring knife is included in the set along with a knife storage block. The blades are full-tang, and the handles are smooth and ergonomic, really comfortable to hold and maneuver, and the decorative adornments are a nice touch adding to their overall beauty. The knife block I also find to be modern/contemporary which blends with our aesthetic nicely…these knives and the block look great sitting on the counter and that’s not something I usually like. As to their weight, you can feel the quality, but again, the knives can be handled easily without experiencing fatigue.I have a set of Damascus steel steak knives and these knives are forged from a Swedish Damasteel, which I suppose is their proprietary blend of steel and similar to Damascus steel. They are definitely sharp, sharp, sharp and slice through everything like warm butter! I’m sure they’ll remain sharp for quite some time, even dulling they’ll likely still be good for me (haha). These knives are to be hand-washed, no dishwasher. And they carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects – nice to see them stand behind what I’d consider very high quality craftsmanship. I think this set is worth every penny of the cost…they’re indeed a worthy investment!

Whoa... Sharp
This item was a treat to be able to review. I wouldn't normally buy this level of cutlery, but for the Vine program. I worked in fine dining restaurants when I was young and have taken the skills I learned there with me to the home kitchen. I typically use an 8" santoku in the $40 dollar range for general cooking and prep. The 8" chef's knife that is part of this set is an object of beauty compared to my utility-oriented daily driver. It is literally exquisitely polished and ground. It is balanced, and fits my hand just so that the bulges and curves support my normal spread for full control of the blade. Of note, these are the sharpest knives I've personally held. I mean, it cuts 1/64" slices off of thin receipt paper under stroke... that's hair-splitting sharp in my eyes.So I was skeptical of these being really worth the coin, based on having never heard of them. I did some research and did find they are a reputable maker at Cangshan. I had heard of Keller before. I have worked with Henckels and Wusthof, and I'm a big fan of Morakniv. Cangshan uses a Swedish steel matrix on this set, so with the European styling and Swedish metallurgy, I thought "why not?"So it's only (3) knives and a block. Well, the hardwood block is very well made and the industrial design of both the knives and the block together is really well done. I cut paper-thin slices off a humongous carrot, which is kind of like a tree branch, with the paring knife. These are top-quality tools and of fine-quality manufacture, so I do think the price is not outrageous. For the money you will get a fine all-around set that should last a very long time with proper care.
