Nice, not Extraordinary Knives
These are nice knives, but I just don't think they are exceptional enough to warrant such a hefty price tag and here is why:-Visually, the handles are nice but in the hand they feel too light, almost plastic. I prefer I heftier handle that balances the knife during cutting.-The holder sleek, but also bulky and takes up a lot of counter space for only 3 knives. Because it is slanted, it doesn't slide in between other knife blocks easily and has to stand on its own vs. being upright.-Sharpness was 6/10. For the price, I expect to be able to cut wafer thin almost transparent slices. These did not deliver.-Nothing "unique" about these knives to set them apart from more affordable sets that come with more variety. Other than the chef's signature on the blades, there was really no stand out features that made them special.-The presentation was lacking. Again, I am rating these based up on the quality, value and versatility. For the price, I expect storage boxes for the knife set over just opening shrink wrap. I can find that at a bargain store.Do these knives work? Yes. Do they perform better than knives that are much cheaper? No. I will continue to use these in my kitchen mixed in with my other knives but wouldn't repurchase or buy as a gift for someone.

Good but not their best
When it comes to knives, I like to get right to the point. These knives are not their best knives, but are priced higher than their fantastic L series. The Cangshan L Series 17-Piece German Steel Forged Knife Set is less than $250. But these 3 knives were $350. I suggest you go with the L series better. Here's why...beyond price. The L series has a rounded ergonomic handle. The signature has a narrow handle making it harder to hold and causing more fatigue. The L series has a wide piece of steel on the heal protecting your fingers from the blade. The signature does not. The L series has a beautiful rivet. The signature has a less attractive rivet with a signature instead of the beautiful Cangshan design. As you'll see in my photos I have a lot of money in Cangshan knives and these, I would not get again over the L series. If the L series didn't exist, I'd say these for sure are beautiful knives, but overpriced compared to competitive knives with better features and ergonomics. Hope this helps.
