Great first try at caneles with this new pan

I was undecided, whether I should try the copper Molds or the tray. I couldn’t bear the thought of spending so much on copper molds so I went with the tray,And I wasn’t disappointed this is the first time I’ve ever tried making these at all and I want to make them for a tea party in June. I think they turned out great. I don’t think you need to spend all that money on the copper molds. I didn’t even use rum because I didn’t have any.These were test caneles. I used vanilla brandy. I coated The forms with melted butter, I chilled tray first and I did not use beeswax. I think that’s for the copper molds. And I’ve read reviews where they say don’t buy anything, but the copper molds because other trays won’t get as hot and bake as evenly, but as you can see this tray baked perfect. I baked them 495 Fahrenheit in an electric oven for 10 minutes and then I bake them 365 for 60 minutes. I think they are wonderful. They will only be better when I use rum!Great product don’t be afraid to buy it because the whole point is to get a good baked product from the pan and it worked for me and I’ve never made caneles before in my life. And don’t skimp on the vanilla use a real vanilla bean. It’s the best.

High quality mold !

As a professional pastry cheffe I was looking for high quality canele molds to bake at home. A majority of professional will tell you to spend money on copper molds but these one are a great cheaper alternative. My caneles have a very nice brown crust and the baking is consistent. I brushed them with soft butter and was able to unmold them perfectly.

Super easy caneles

I had done alot of research before picking this cake pan to make Caneles - These retain perfect temps that resulted in crispy exterior and moist interior. The size of the Caneles is a little larger than traditional - which is a positive in my opinion - you eat one instead of two... realistically, you end up eating two instead of four! I'd get these again.

Coating came off during baking!

I had the 12-well pan for around a year and a half and used them for maybe 5-6 times with no problems following the specified temperature and care instructions. With today's batch, some of the non-stick coating peeled off and attached to my canneles. I always oiled it before use and never scrubbed it, thought I could count on this pan for more than a handful of uses, quite disappointed :(
