Love this pan! Food doesn't stick and clean up is so easy! I'll never buy teflon again.
Great material, non stick like cast iron but much lighter. This is now my go to frying pan
So far it seems like a good pan. very non stick and a fair price. I hope the finish is durable
I really wanted to like this pan. The nitrided coating is really good. Cooked some eggs in it and virtually no sticking, and really easy cleanup. The wooden handle is really nice and prevents hands from burning (compared to a cast iron type pan, which is what I normally use).Unfortunately the bottom of the pan started warping around 200-250 degrees, and it was quite a noticeable bulge. The metal is just too thin in this pan. I returned it. I will look for something similar with hopefully thicker steel that doesn't warp.
First, it's on the thinner side I wish it'd be a bit thicker than it is, my cheapo no-brand CS skillet I bought at World Market is thicker. And that has been superb and stays non-stick for as long as I keep it up.I thought I'd try this one, I like its handle and it's "nitrided" so maybe it would need less maintanence.Having said those - it heats up fast, did not need to season it, non-stick still so far though I;m still a bit doubtful on the textured surface. The funny thing is everytime it starts sticking I'd just scrub the "season" & grime off and its back to being "non-stick", so sort of less maintenance to keep it non-stick.The other thing is it's shape, I was hoping it be a little shallower like my CS french skillet but this one shaped more like a standard frying pan, you can deep fry on on iit but i have my nitrided wok for that too.all in all, i think this is a good buy.
nice quality, good value for $ . except 2 critical things:- Much heavier than expected - especially for carbon steel - which is 1 of 2 primary reasons for my purchase. the other was for preseasoning and non stick. preseasoning is good, but EVERYTHING sticks. you can't soak it because it's carbon steel, and you can't use abrasives - becaus it's carbon steel.i even read and followed included instructions. disappointing.
Initially a quick rinse was all that was needed after using this pan. Nice! But after a few weeks food began sticking to it during cooking and mild scrubbing is now required for clean-up. Didn't last very long. Still better than the old pans, but doesn't live up to the hype.
