Excellent light-weight slicer

The 10" Humbee doesn't have the heft of some slicers I have owned and the 'NSF' plastic handle is not quite presentation grade, but overall, it is a fine slicer and and excellent value. The knife arrived sharp and it was excellent at thin slicing turkey breasts right out of the packaging. I'd buy it again and would recommend it to others.Bonus tip: It is also great at removing the rind from thinner skinned melons. It follows the curvature, is long enough for larger melons and allows for good control over how much rind (vs. flesh) is removed.

Carving knife worth the price.

Used to slice BBQ meat in a commercial setting.I also use a Victorian ox carver that is $35 more expensive than this knive the handle is plasticy with small dimples that are meant for grip luckily wearing a cutting gloves does not irritate your fingers after long use.We slice up ribs and Beef roast for most of our shift and a cheap knife like this stands up to the work.I feel the sharpness might not keep as long as some of our more expensive knives.But also if this knife gets lost or stolen being we are outside and open to the public any random person could easily steal our knives, losing a knife that only cost $12-13 is not a hardship.This knife is heavier and thicker than the more expensive knives we use so slicing really thin cuts is harder.But with the weight of the knife making it easier after the end of the day to cut through more meat and also allowing the meat to fall off the knife making quick work of the hundreds of pounds of Tri tips we go through every weekend.I have over 30 years of working in food environment from Deli’s to Butcher shops.

Dull? Who you calling dull?!

Maybe I got a dud, but this knife is decidedly not sharp. I struggle to slice through any meats. Beef, turkey, ham - all needed considerable effort to get through. Forget about thin slices on anything. When I run my finger across the blade, it's barely sharper than a butter knife and nowhere close to my run of the mill kitchen knife from years back. I'm very disappointed.
