I have a work mentor that plays music and use to be in a band. I was looking for a simple yet useful gift that comprised of a few hobbies or interest and this hit the mark. He loves music and loves his tea. The cup is very study and wording is clear not smudged. Handle is strong and good size to hold on to.
Nothing surprising or mysterious here. Pretty much exactly what’s pictured and described. An ideal token of appreciation for a music teacher or instructor. The mug will get the job done and seems of decent quality - printing is also good. Not the most memorable design but as part of a larger gift or a small thank you … Will be appreciated by any fun loving teacher.
I grabbed this cup as I really love the sentiment that is on it. The craftsmanship of the cup is done wonderfully. Such as the shape, the glaze, the inside, etc. The shape of the cup is done with precision such as the circle shape and dimensions are exactly round. There’s no wobbles, lumps, or anything like that. The same can be said for the handle and inside of the mug, again they are perfectly done with unison.The glaze as well has been wonderfully done. The glaze is super smooth and shiny. Again, there are no lumps or bubbles seen anywhere on the mug.That being said, unfortunately, there are some other errors with the mug. The first error is in the placement of the sentiment/wording. The wording on both sides of the mug are not centered. On the bottom of the mug the logo as well is not centered. Then there are some areas within the lettering that are not solid black. Some of the letters are a bit lighter but they were only in parts of that letter. It’s not the whole letter. It appears as though they have some of the orange color that was used on the music notes mixed in with the black.There is also something else that I happen to notice. What I noticed is that there are no “markers” on the bottom of the mug. What I mean by “markers” is that there is no indication of what the mug is made from. There is no stamping on the bottom for how to care for the cup. As well as if it’s microwave or dishwasher safe. None of this information was included with the mug either. Not only would it have been nice to have this information for myself, but if this was to be given as a gift, these things would be much needed information for the recipient.Since none of that information was included, I will say that I have gently hand washed this cup with mild dish soap and towel dried it, which seemed to hold up just fine. Not knowing if allowing water to sit on the cup for air drying, I didn’t wanna take any chances by leaving even a drop of moisture behind, so I thoroughly made sure it was dried before placing it in the cupboard. I have also refrained from putting it in the dishwasher and microwave as I didn’t want to take any chances with that either.In general, it’s not a bad mug. As I said the construction of the mug itself has been done very nicely and the issue is more within the details of the mug so it leaves me torn on whether or not I would recommend this as a gift. I do feel the price of the mug at the time of my review is a bit high compared to the quality though.
My daughter's music teacher was so happy to receive this. She thought it was adorable and had never seen one like it. The printing quality and the mug quality were both nice and it comes in a box so it's easy to wrap and deliver.
