Very good quality
Love it from pizza to lasagna in it
Great lasagna pan
I use this cast iron Detroit style pizza pan all the time for thick crust pizzas and other oven dishes. The 9x13 size fits well in my oven and is big enough to handle a family meal without crowding the edges. It heats evenly and really helps get a crisp bottom on deep dish pizza that can be hard to pull off in a regular pan.The pre‑seasoned surface was ready to go right out of the box and I have only hand washed and dried it after each use to keep it in good shape. It feels heavy and solid so I treat it like a piece of cookware that will be around for years. I have used it for lasagna and roasted vegetables as well, and both come out with nice browning that I did not get in thinner pans.If I had to point out a small downside it would be the weight. This thing is cast iron so lifting it full of food takes a bit of care so you do not drop it. Also you have to hand wash and dry it right away so it does not rust, but that is part of owning cast iron. For the performance and the price it feels like a great value for anyone who likes deep dish pizza or wants sturdy bakeware that lasts.
9x13 pans are the best size for cooking almost anything and food made in a cast iron pan tastes so good Just looking at the picture of the Detroit Pizza made me have to buy this pan and make myself a pizza. The thing to remember is that with any cast iron, you need to season the pan. Although this pan does come preseasoned, I like to season them again using my gas grill and a can of Crisco grease to make sure they are good and slick with little chance for food to stick. Keeping them seasoned also keeps the rust away. Once you are seasoned, then you are off the cooking races. This pan is made of quality metal, worked well and was very easy to clean. The instructions state to treat it gently, however I have always used metal utensils without an issue on my cast iron and this one is just as sturdy. The key to cleaning is that you need to scrape it out and never use soap/water or else you have a chance of rust forming and you will have to reseason.Although I am partial to the big name in cast iron, I am also a fan of this dish.
This Is An Extremely Nice Cast Iron Pizza Pan.... BUT IT HEAVY AS HECK!! This pan is not for your elderly mother to cook with that even uses wrought iron. This wrought iron is the heaviest I've used and I LOVE wrought iron to cook with. With that being said. It's a great pan that will last you a lifetime for real. Being pre-seasoned is exciting because I can never seem to do it well enough when I first purchase. I know it will do well in the oven with even cooking throughout your pizza or lasagna. Love the dark silver color also. Definitely worth every penny...
