impeccable quality, approachably priced
The sheer quality level of these spoons is astounding, especially for the price! The sizing is _ideal_, with a bowl big enough for a hungry person who means business to get themselves fed, unlike so many which seem to be sized for the petite or only the daintiest of dining, yet confers an understated grace in its well-observed design and elegant detailing. Every aspect is thoughtfully resolved: thick, sturdy ceramic with a standard empty center-channel to avoid lop-sided weight; a perfect length of handle beautifully arched with a tastefully naped ending hook achieves satisfying heft that balances the bowl while still feeling light and nimble; the flat for tabletop resting is _behind_ the center of the bowl (I hate when a bite leveled to the bowl’s rim forces your lip across the flattened part on the back of the bowl!); the glaze’s quality is outstanding, as well, with the facet on the end in contact with the table being unglazed for traction so it’s not too easy to send spinning; the hand-painted bowl patterns lend a lovely modest dignity and charm; the muted, neutral hues promote a sedate, deliberative calm. They arrived in a simple but attractive box suitable for gifting (however, my order is for my own use), though you may opt to replace the tape and bubble-wrap inside meant for shipping safety instead for gift tissue-paper before wrapping.
