Elegant and practical
Whether you have worked in the industry, or simply been to many banquets, these should look familiar. A touch more elegant than the rectangle variety, not quite as cool as the ones with roll top lids, but still very nice!A few things, there is some assembly, but it’s really not that bad. Some unfinished edges, but about what you’d get from restaurant supply. Tongs could be a bit better quality wise. Finally, the price might be a bit steep for some, but well worth it if you host gatherings frequently, because they are nice and well made enough to last for a good long time.Four of these is often more than enough, considering their sizes, which hold quite a lot (they are large, 6 qt is the typical size of a pressure cooker insert). They function so well, you have to watch heat source to keep the food warm, not continuing to cook.Overall, these add a nice touch to any get together. They definitely get compliments.

Easy setup, clean look, good capacity
These chafing dishes are aesthetically pleasing, they have a big capacity, they are sized well for the heating element, and they were easy to build.You get a lot with this kit. There's the stand for the chafing dish, which includes the bottom plate the holds the fuel canister, and has an upper ring with handles that holds the bowls securely. There's a little wire thing that slips onto the side of the upper ring, this is the lid holder, which works great.There's a main water bowl that goes onto the frame first. I wasn't sure how much water to put in it, I didn't see any info on that. I ended up with a little less than half full. Then I slide the main food dish into that water dish. The lid goes on top of that. Everything fits together nicely.There's a set of tongs that go with this kit as well. They have big asymmetric paddles on them, ideal for picking up foods without a mess. I've been trying to figure out a way to hold these tongs when not in use, but I'm just going to put them on a plate beside the chafing dishes.Everything is made of metal, and feels durable.Best of all, there's four full sets in this kit. I can run a full family dinner thanks to this set.I used a gel fuel in the provided burner units. It worked great. At full blast, I was able to get the water bowling. I placed an oven thermometer inside the empty food dish, which held a consistent 170°F. I filled the gel fuel to just short of half of the burner, which kept things hot for about two hours.I am very pleased with these chafing dishes. I'll admit that the gap under the rim of the bowls keeps staining my fingers black when I pick up the bowls, the fuel canister is in a recess, but can still slide a bit, and the bottom of the water bowls got a big burn mark on them after the first use, but, the chafing dishes, overall, work exceptionally well for my needs. I think this is a valuable purchase.
