Received as a gift and love it. Very sturdy and easy to clean. Love that it’s adjustable. I also like that it comes with extra wires. Would buy again.
The screw broke first use. Went to adjust it and the screw stripped out before i even cut anything. The stiffness of the wire is good though.
This wire cheese slicer has a simple, straightforward design that doesn’t really stand out. It’s a very basic cheese slicer in both appearance and construction, and while the design suggests it should make slicing easier, it doesn’t add much advantage in practice. The plastic components don’t contribute much functionally, especially since the overall feel of the slicer is still very lightweight and almost aluminum-like.In terms of performance, it gets the job done with softer cheeses, where slicing is relatively smooth and manageable. However, with harder cheeses, the design becomes more of a limitation. The wire often struggles to create a clean slice, sometimes breaking the cheese into crumbles instead of producing a full, even cut. This makes the process more tedious and less efficient than expected. For the price, it’s a fair value if you’re only planning to use it for softer cheeses and occasional use. But if you’re looking for a durable, all-purpose cheese slicer with a thoughtfully engineered design that makes slicing effortless across different cheese types, this wouldn’t be my top choice.
Got tired of cutting cheese slices uneven with a knife. I also wanted something easier for my kids to use without cutting themselves. This Adjustable Wire Cheese Slicer works great with block cheese. It works great with all types of cheese. It cust very smoothly and it is nice that you're can adjust the thickness of the slices with the nut. It is very sturdy and light. Seems like it will last a while. It also comes with 4 extra replacement wires. Overalls it is great value for the price and makes cutting cheese a lot easier.
This is a fairly large metal cheese grater that comes with...three or four? spare wires. I don't think there are any differences in the wire. No instructions for changing them out, but it *looks* self explanatory, so I guess we'll find out. I also sometimesI tested this on a bar of cabot alpine cheddar. I will likely adjust my review when I replenish my cheese stash. This is great for super thin slices. Thicker slices? It's...okay. Slicing from across the top it was difficult to get thicker than 3mm. Placing it on the table and slicing top down did much better, but it didn't reach the bottom and you end up having to rip it off or leave a 'tail' on the block itself.I'm pretty sure this is a cheese thing more than a slicer thing, but i did end up accidentally ripping entire chunks off the block during use. Will definitely need to test this further.Overall, I am pleased
This cheese slicer is super easy to use, and I can get paper thin cheese slices from my favorite brands. You also save a lot of money buying a block of cheese and slicing it yourself. Sure, I can cut off a slab of cheese with a knife, but there's just something about a delicate slice of cheese melting on your tongue that makes it a billion times better. I eat mostly low-carb and snacking can kind of suck - no chips or snacky crunchy things. But a few paper-thin slices of a nice, aged cheese (like this cheddar gruyere) really hits that snack spot and tides you over. This slicer was very easy to clean - I just sprayed it with a hit of foaming dish soap, let it sit a moment and then rinsed it off and let it dry. If there's cheese trying to cling, gently wipe the soap across the wire with a sponge. It's adjustable so you can make big honking slices if you want - way easier than going at a block of cheese with a knife. It came with extra wires, as well. I'm loving this thing so far - feels nice and durable (hurray for stainless steel!) and cut right through 2 different heavy types of cheese. I also used it on full-fat mozzarella which is super thick - it made an AWESOME topping for chicken parm, nice and light slices that bubbled gloriously under the broiler. This is a great purchase!
