This is a game changer!
I was a bit skeptical, but after using this a few times, this shredder is amazing! I've been using a standard metal grater and a horizontal slicer, and this shredder blows them away, and is safer too (I lost my fingertip with my horizontal slicer). It shreds hard and soft cheese with ease and speed. I also able to slice two full cucumbers in less than 30 seconds. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe. Comes with 3 graters; fine, coarse and slices (for veggies). Other reviewers complain about the suction grip on the unit. I have not had any issues on my granite counter tops. I was using a paper plate to catch the output; the spout is a little short and some of the shreds miss the plate. I then switched to using a bowl, placing the rim under the spout and the problem was solved. This is well worth the money; will order another one just in case one is waiting to be cleaned.

Great buy for the price!
For the price, this thing has been great! It suctions to the counter, which helps a lot with the product not moving around. It is very easy to take a part and clean. Using it is a breeze (it doesn't get 100% of the cheese block - but we just get a tiny bonus snack when we are done grating lol). It does a great job shredding and I love the 3 different parts that it comes with. We mainly shred cheese, but also used it for some small apple savings/slices (much thinner than I thought, but still good). Overall, we are happy with the purchase!

Works fine, hard to clean

Improved but also made worse
So, since these things started being advertised a few years ago, this is the third one I have bought. I was happy to see that they had merged the best features of the previous two: the angled cone design of the blades means the contents are pushed forward when grating, making that part easier. The screw on handle is a much better idea because the little clips of the first design were finicky to lock. This makes it easier to assemble and disassemble. Because it's a full metal blade, it works much better, grating constantly as you turn, rather than just half the time, and the cheese is shredded, not getting stuck on the smooth plastic areas. This is basically the same size as the first one, which means the throat is a little small for a block cheese, but I have a knife. The problem here that prevents 5 stars is that they decided to stop making the throat section detachable from the base! This makes cleaning more difficult. The instructions say that you cannot immerse or put the suction part in the dishwasher, only wipe clean. But it's permanently attached to the greasy part! Am I supposed to dangle it into dishwater while keeping the base dry?! This is actually disappointing enough for me to consider returning it. Both of the other designs at least recognize that you have to wash that part thoroughly after use. Now I'm not even sure how to get it clean without quickly ruining the rubber of the base! Which is really a shame, because the suction works better, too. Very disappointed that I didn't see this design change because I would not have purchased it.
