Works really well - but have to be careful when handling, especially washing because edges are sharp as well as the blade. Cuts through blocks of soft cheese really well too., much better than a sharp knife. Happy with the purchase as we buy 2 pound blocks of cheese and need to cut them into smaller sections.
Used one time to “cut” gouda cheese. The wire was so stretched out that it barely cut. Then, the wire broke half way through the small cheese block. Yes, it does come with extra wires but I’m not willing to replace twice each time I use it. Will be returning.
Well packaged, no defects noticed. Extra cutting wires included.Upon opening the box, the slicer seemed a bit feeble. Very light weight. But it is surprising stable during use. Non skid feet prevent too much sliding although you do need to keep it stable during use.We have used this slicer on both cheddar and mozzarella. Works well with both. With a bit of experience, you are able to get pretty thin slices.Don't attempt to slice too quickly. Light pressure on the cutter works best. Let the tool do the work.Be aware that you will not get perfect slices. The wire will bend some while cutting. This will cause it to 'sprong' as it finishes the cut. There will be some shredding along the bottom edge of the slice, giving a frayed appearance. Not unsightly but just so you know.Easy to clean. Overall, I find this slicer better than using a knife.
we really like this cheese cutter. It is easy to use and cuts very smoothly. Definitely recommend this cutter, especially for block cheese.

The cheese slicer works well. However, was supposed to come with 10 replacement wires. The replacement wires were missing. Would have given it 5 stars if packaged properly.
