I wasn't sure when I ordered this cutter if I liked the styling. Turns out to be extremely functional. Works easily on larger blocks of cheese. Also great on denser cheeses which are more of a challenge to slice. Very sturdy product.
Purchased 9-22-24. The wire is durable with minimal stretch, just the right sharpness to cut through extra firm cheese. Although light weight, size is appropriate for even large chunks of cheese. The grip works well, easy to use. Most of all the simplicity of design makes it easy to wash after use. Would purchase again.
I am happy with this cheese slicer. But this is my second time purchasing because the wire broke on my first one seemingly prematurely. At least they aren’t expensive.I suppose the wire is replaceable, as there are Philips screws holding the wire. I didn’t try that repair yet but if I find wire, I think I’ll give that a shot too.What I do like about it is that the wire is right at the end of the slicer, so you can slice all the way through the cheese. I’ve had slicers where the wire just doesn’t go all the way to the cutting board. This one does, if you just press directly on the wire on both sides of the cheese.The handle is fairly comfortable as well.It is very simple, so easy to clean.
I use this as a tool for ceramics. Makes cutting top edge of my pots so easy and clean.
I purchased this slicer twice. The first time, it broke off the first time I used it. I assumed it was just a one time defective item. I reordered a replacement at no charge. The exact same thing happened. It broke off while using it the first time. Though the price seems right, IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. Buyer beware.Never in my lifetime has a product been this defective. I rarely write negative reviews of products. But in this situation it was more then merited. Dont waste your money.
It does exactly what you need it to do. Except, the handle is pretty difficult to hold on to. I was so indecisive about this item for that very reason and I was right to be. I will continue to use it for now but I'll eventually get a new one and toss this. Save your money!
My last cheese slicer broke, I hope this one lasts longer. It's a very sturdy product.
