Versatile cutter, but only as stable as your grip
I’m used to using a different type of cutter so this one is taking some time to get used to. My hand and grip isn’t as stable as I’d like, so at times my cuts aren’t as even or as uniform as I wanted them to be. However, with a little more practice, I should make it work better. The set comes with extra wires that install pretty easily, just pay attention to how you remove the old one. The marble base is nice because the cheeses don’t stick to it.I have it four stars because it is kinda tricky to use the cutter if you’re not used to using a freestyle kind. Other than that, it cuts well and stores away without needing a lot of space.

Great for slicing rolls of butter
Awesome tool!! I have been using this cheese slicer mainly for butter sold in rolls (Amish brands). Prior to this, using a butter knife caused the butter to break away from the roll and simply crumble, so I could not get a more precise size of cut. This is so much easier and effective!

Not what I expected, but fantastic for what it is
I am quite mixed here because while I do love this altogether, I feel this wasn't quite what I thought it would be.It's probably due to user error, and therefore I won't subtract more than one star—that one being removed because of the way this was advertised.It really feels like one piece, almost like a fully mechanical, lever-type item.This is simply a marble slab with two steps and a separate cheese-slicing tool. I appreciate the additional bits: multiple extra wires, an extra bar for the cutter, and a brush to brush out crumbs.That being said, for what it is, it's a good one. It's the perfect size within weight for an item of its type and has wire that is as sharp as a razor yet isn't dangerous to fingers. It sets you up for success when slicing and is attractive. The cutter itself is easy to clean and take apart if necessary.Speaking of easy cleaning, the stepped marble board that the cheese lies on is super sleek and streamlined. There are no weird issues with making sure that you've gotten all the little crumbles out of all the crevices, as there really aren't many. This is well-constructed in a fashion where function was clearly thought about, and I definitely appreciate that.Do you need a cute, classy, streamlined cheese cutter? Unless you have a lot of company over for charcuterie specifically, probably not. Should you still get one if you enjoy cheese (or other soft cutting food items) and like your kitchen to look a little bougie? For sure. Particularly at this price which, while not entirely inexpensive, is still pretty decent for the item that you're getting.

Nice Multi Purpose Slicer
As a cheese-loving family, we absolutely love this slicer. While you need a firm grip to keep hard cheese blocks from sliding, it cuts uniformly. It works great for soft and hard cheeses, as well as butter. I've found it makes sharp cuts with little effort. Not only is it compact, but it has an upscale look with the marble base. DO Cut the Cheese
I love this cheese slicer! I host cheese tasting parties in my home once a month. I have been needing a nicer slicer and block set for awhile now. This set has fit the bill. The block is a beautiful marble of mixed white and greys with wood. The slicer itself is very well-built, coming with another couple of slicing wire replacements. It's also easy to clean.
