All the best features of a good knife!
Here is my review of the 6" Chef / Boning Knife from DIIHAUZZ.There's nothing like a good knife in the kitchen. Having had some training on what makes a knife, a good knife, I'm the perfect person to review this! When I opened the box, I was impressed at first glance. This knife comes in a nice velvet-lined box, along with a very nice leather knife sheath! Has a loop to put this on your belt, also.First impression, Great! It is an impressive-looking knife. It screams I'm a Viking, and you can't have my knife! The knife has a 6" L blade and measures 11.14" overall. It is a full tang knife. Tang is the blade, and a full tang is when the blade goes all the way up the handle. So one continuous piece of steel. The blade is hand-forged from high-carbon Stainless Steel. The knife has a triple-riveted handle and feels good in your hand. The knife has a good-sized butt for your finger to rest against and a deep indentation on the blade's top for your thumb to rest on.It really helps when deboning meat! This knife also has a hole in the blade. This is for your forefinger to go in and is a safety feature to prevent your hand from sliding forward. It also gives your hand a better grip when you have to apply a lot of pressure. Lessen the fatigue in the hand when boning meat. With a 60% angled tip, the knife rocks back and forth easily. This knife is razor sharp and has a 12% honed angle on both sides. The handle is carbonized wood. It makes it resistant to cracking and breaking.I love the hand-hammered finish as it helps to keep stuff from sticking to the blade. Gives the Knife a rugged appearance. It's a lightweight knife at 0.37lbs, and the ergonomic handle feels good in your hand. I love the hook at the end of the knife to hang it up.So we decided to try this baby out, deboning a chicken. Let me say that this knife had no problem handling that chicken! Wow! It is sharp, easy to use, and goes through chicken joints like butter!I love it! Definitely a five-star product! Quick bit of advice- never put this knife in a dishwasher! Always hand-wash right after use and dry it immediately. This knife will last a very long time if you take care of it properly.
