I quite like these serving trays except for one small thing - I thought that the stands were attached to the trays. That could have been poor reading of the description on my part but just be aware that it’s going to be 6 parts in the box. So it’s just a little bit of an extra storage issue, maybe. They are fairly sturdy although i wouldn’t expect them to hold super heavy food items. They are great for smaller things, like cheese, light appetizers, cupcakes, etc. They are easy to clean and very nice looking, I’m happy to use them for gatherings.
This is a set of 3 trays for hors d'oeuvres. They come in a box and all three trays just unfold easily to three different heights. The trays seem to be nice wooden trays to show off your hors d'oeuvres for your party. They come in a box that has care directions on it. I kind of wish that the care directions were a separate piece of paper so I can keep it in a drawer. But I probably will end up keeping the trays in the original box in my dining room, so I’m guessing it will be okay. It says that you should wipe clean with soap and water. It also says that about every 3 months, you should clean with “food safe mineral oil” to keep the “wood’s natural finish”. I’m not sure we will use them enough that I will need to worry about the natural wood will fade, so I don’t think I’ll need to worry about it. Overall, I really like these trays!
I love this product! The trays feel sturdy and well-made, and the size is perfect for my counter. I really like that the legs are removable — it makes it easy to adjust the tiers or use the trays separately depending on the occasion. It’s a great way to display food beautifully and save space at the same time.
I was really looking forward to receiving these serving trays based on the listing's photos and description. Unfortunately, when they arrived I discovered several quality problems that make them less appealing.First, the good. These are nice sized, solid wood trays with a beautiful finish. They are the perfect size for snacks or Hors d'oeuvres. They have a small lip around the edges to contain any small spills and keep things from falling off the sides. The stands are attractive and made from sturdy metal. Some of the issues were pretty obvious on opening the package, and the first one I noticed was inconsistencies in the wood's surface. There were several deep dents that were obviously inflicted late in the manufacturing process and not just natural features of the wood. Based on the spacing, I think that the ball hinges of the tray packaged above was pressed down into the surface when the box was stacked during shipping. You can actually see the shape of the whole hinge pressed into the surface if you look closely (see photos). I don't think it was a manufacturing flaw, but a packaging flaw since the only thing separate the trays was a very thin sheet of wrapping foam. This theory is further supported by the fact that two of the three trays have these marks, although they are much more obvious on one of them. Since the top tray in the box didn't have a metal stand resting on it, it didn't get dented.Another problem I spotted with the trays themselves is a very obvious crack or bad joint in one of them. I understand that several boards are typically joined together to make wide wood pieces, but it appears that one of the trays wasn't clamped tight enough during the joining/gluing process which left a very visible line where they come together. Additionally, one tray had a section where the finish was uneven on the edge where it looks like the sealant or stain pooled up.These issues are not that bad, to be honest, just annoying to see on a brand new item. The real problem came when I set the trays on the stands. Something just seemed off. As it turns out, the hinges on the fold-out legs of the stands were not made to lock at the exact opposite angles from each other. The result is that one side of the tray sits lower than the other, and one leg extends farther to the side than the other. From a practical standpoint, this isn't that terrible...it isn't enough of an angle for things to slide off...but from a presentation standpoint, it is awful. And since no two are wonky in the exact same way, lining them up just really brings out the wonkiness (see photos)
This 3-piece serving/display tray set is of very high quality just like every other Chef Pomodoro product that I have used. The wooden trays are really nice and are made of actual wood and have some weight to them but not overly heavy, you can just feel the quality but will have no problem moving them around when using or storing. The legs are made of high quality metal and could support much more weight than you will be placing on them and heavy enough to be very stable but still light enough that movement should not be an issue for anyone. I have not had the chance to use all 3 yet but I took a picture with one of my cookies and it makes it look really good. This set would be perfect for cookies, cupcakes, crackers, cheese, meats or just about anything you would want to serve. This will definitely impress the guests at your next dinner party and they will think that you spent much more than the price, this set is just that nice! I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants an elegant serving tray set at a very good price. I don't see anyone regretting this purchase.
These are very nice and well made. I do appreciate that they come in three different height sizes as well, because sometimes I just need one across my lap while I’m sitting in my couch. The darker color wood is very convenient because you can spill things obviously, so that hides any staining that can occur, for the most part. And to be honest, the staining on the wood itself is very good. The only downside is they’re hard to store because the legs aren’t attached. I wasn’t expecting that, I kind of forget they aren’t anytime I pull one out to use, so it takes me by surprise. I’m not sure why they didn’t attach them. The only thing I can think of is that maybe people just want to wood surface occasionally?
