This is one of the best things in my kitchen!!!The first thing I used it for was to shred carrots for carrot cake cupcakes. It usually takes me FOREVER to shred 4 cups of carrots plus, I’d always have to give the carrots a once over with a knife as well because my regular grater doesn’t get it small enough. This gadget worked beautifully! Not difficult at all, I was done so quickly and it was really simple to clean.It’s sturdy and it stuck to my counter very well. Another bonus is my large, 4 cup measuring cup could fit under the shoot easily.If I could give this thing more stars, I would. It’s a 5 out of 5 from me.

Inferior to the old school metal ones
The plastic housing doesn't extend far enough from the base, so cheese falls all over the counter instead of into bowl or plate. I tried cutting a paper plate to fit around the base. That didn't work either. The plastic is so cheap that it dull and scratches in the dishwasher. The base which should just be rinsed off, collects water under the suction plate. I saw the same item in local store for about 1/3 rd' the price. I really miss my very old one that was metal. I wish that style would just be re-made.

Works good with a few minor adjustments needed
The item works as advertised. I mostly use the cheese grater attachment. I noticed after about the third use, one of the cheese grater attachments had a crack in the plastic piece surrounding the grater. Everything is very easy to assemble, and the blades are very sharp. I do wish the barrel were a bit longer because I find that it’s hard to place something in front of the grater to catch the finished product.
