Excellent product when used with some care
This is a very useful and handy device. I was skeptical that a hand held unit like this could do the job that a larger vacuum sealer had accomplished for us.It turned out to be easier, more convenient, less wasteful of plastic, and more versatile. We use it every day. Plus, customer service was excellent.Here is what I have learned to get the most from this device.Once charged, it works for a long time.Don't press the device too hard against the bag or the seal my be blocked and air will not leave the bag.When using the glass containers, be aware that the seal can stick in the upright position, thereby releasing the vacuum when you pull away the device. To get around this, I found it best to push and pull the moveable part of the seal before using the vacuum. Wait a second or so after the device shuts off. If the device is still being held to the container, the seal is still open. Tap the container against the table, with the device attached. It may take a couple of tries. Resealing may be necessary.Always use the squeezing device to seal the bag.When sealing bread or soft items, don't try to get all the air out. Stop before the food itself starts to compress. Freezing the item ahead of time may help.Be careful when sealing items with relatively sharp parts, like granola, nuts, coconut pieces, dry pasta etc. They may pierce the plastic as the air leaves.If the bag will not hold a vacuum, it could be a tear or puncture. Fill the bag with water and note any leaks. Use a marking pen to circle them. I found that a small piece of clear packing tape will adequately seal small tears and holes.

Great vacuum sealing product.
This is an excellent product. It is incredibly convenient. You simply put your item in the resealable bag and within seconds your bag is vacuum sealed. I have used it with nuts like pistachios and sunflower seeds and they keep forever and are super fresh when you open them a week later. I feed our dog from those fresh dog food pouches but a whole pouch is to much food, I just put the whole pouch in the resealable vacuum bag and vacuum pack it and put it in the refrigerator and the next day it is just as fresh as when I opened it. The sealed pouches hold the vacuum really really well. I have had some items sealed for weeks and the pouch stayed fully sealed with the vacuum still intact with no air leakage. The 2 keys things for this product are ease of use and a reliable seal on the vacuum bags even after opening them 20 or more times. Same with the glass containers. The seal holds very well. I would highly recommend this product for your vacuum sealing needs.

Exceptional and user-friendly
This product is exceptional and remarkably user-friendly. The included bags are ideally sized, eliminating food waste and the need for frequent purchases. Simply fill the bags and seal using the vacuum sealer. A significant advantage is the reusability of the bags, which can be easily cleaned in a dishwasher. This functionality will yield immediate cost savings. I strongly endorse this product.

A good set of vacuum sealing containers that work well for food prep and left overs
I bought this kit and then another pack of the containers. It is certainly not cheap with the cordless vacuum pump, but after using them for various food prep activities, I have been quite pleased.For wet dishes, they work very well. You just need to make sure the sealing area is clean. Releasing the vaccuum is easy, and the vacuum pump is automatic. You sit it on the container with the vacuum valve fully seated closed, and hit the button. It vacuums down and stops when it achieves the proper vacuum. I've had containers hold a vacuum for over a week which was better than I expected.I tried using it to store fresh ground coffee. In this case, I found it doesn't work as well. When releasing the vacuum, it would blow the fresh grounds up into the seal and it became more trouble than it's worth. I switched back to a more basic vacuum container with a hand pump as it's easier to feather the vacuum release on that older container I have. Otherwise, I've been very pleased with these. The only difficult part is cleaning the seal after removing it. That's true of trying to clean most container seals.I'd say value for money was pushing the edge of what I think is acceptable. I would have preferred these were priced a bit more modestly, but if they hold up for a few years I'll be quite happy. For now, I'm going to give it a 5 rating, but if I start having sealing issues, I'll update this review. Thus far I've been using them for 3-4 weeks without any issues.Update: I left two of the containers in the fridge with some leftovers in them for a week untouched. I removed them after 7 days and both still held a vacuum within. One thing to note is you must ensure the sealing surface or the top of each container (5/8" or so) is perfectly clean. Any amount of contaminates on the sealing surface will result in a leak. I have also tried the matching vacuum resealable bags. Three of them have worked great, but one did develop a leak that wasn't at the sealing strip. It was like a seam of the bag or pinhole developed in the bag with limited use. I do like the bags because they have the plastic disc which keeps the bag sealing surface for the vacuum pump flat which is something I had issues with on Food Saver OEM bags back in the day. Overall, still very pleased with this and the extra set I purchased.

Chef Preserve sealer is amazing!!!
LOVE this Chef Preserve Compact Vacuum. I wish I had known about it sooner. It works exactly as described. I have used the bags as well as the glass containers provided with the unit. Both work beautifully. The only reason I gave it a four star review was because their "instruction sheet" is the worst ever. The vacuum is pretty much self-explanatory but I did have a few minor questions that were not addressed and could not find the answers. Recharging? Sealing the glass containers? Writing the contents and date on the bags? I'm afraid the writing may not come off. But, would I buy it again? That's a "no brainer". ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT, YES!!!!!!!
