Shaft Off Center

The handles are nice and beefy and the axle seems plenty stout. The finish on the handles is nice but the marble on the roller feels a little pitted. Its stone, so that may be unavoidable, but I hope the tiny pockets don't trap food particles. The hole through the center is also not lined up properly on one end, so one handle moves smoothly while the other bobs up and down while rolling. The wooden cradle is nice so the heavy thing doesn't wind up rolling off onto the floor. Its also a little rough, so will probably sand it lightly to make it easier to clean.Overall, its got nice heft and a good feel, but just needs a little more attention to details. However, it is made in China, so getting something great was never really expected.

Works so well

My first pin was similar to this but lighter. I decided to give it away for a more modern wooden, very sleek, very long one with no handles. What a mistake!! Took forever to roll out the dough, and was such a workout that I stopped baking as much because ai knew I was in for a struggle just to roll dough wide and flat. Decided to return to traditional roller and as heavy as I could find. This pin is GREAT...doesn’t stain (I roll out Jamaican patty dough and the curry stained the wooden pin), rolls very fluidly, and makes short, easy work of rolling the dough out flat, mostly because of its heavy weight. Love the bonus of the included pin stand.
