Perfect Tarts and Quiches

These non-stick steel tart pans are perfect. If you bake a lot, you are aware that dark, non-stick finishes are not ideal for pie and tart crusts. They tend to over-bake the edges and sides while leaving the tart center under-baked. Make Mary Berry happy and avoid the dreaded "soggy bottom" by selecting light-colored, non-stick finishes and steel construction for perfect bakes.So far, I've used these tart pans for quiches and fruit tarts. I blind-bake the crusts for the fruit tarts due to their shorter baking times. Everything has turned out beautifully. The crusts are perfectly golden throughout. The non-stick finish makes it easy to remove your bakes for serving. Use caution when slicing and cleaning to avoid scratching the non-stick surface. I always add a parchment circle to the bottom so I can easily transfer things to a plate or cake stand after cooling. This set is a perfect addition to your baking cupboard and would make a wonderful gift.

Solid, Easy to Clean Pans

I finally made an apple tart to test out these pans, and I was not disappointed. The pans are solid and feel like they’ll hold up well over time.I was a little worried that the tart pan may leak because of the loose bottom, but I wanted to test it without lining the inside. I put some parchment paper underneath the pan while my tart baked, and there was no leaking whatsoever. When the tart was done, I was able to easily separate the bottom of the pan from the sides to remove the tart without messing it up. Success!And since I hate hand washing dishes, I really hoped that the pan would clean up easily after I was done. Apple, sugar, and apricot preserves can cause quite a sticky mess, but the pan sides and bottom cleaned up without any effort.This is a winning set on all levels for me.

I love these pans!The 9.5 inch pan is perfect for dessert tarts. The smaller 7 inch pan makes a mean breakfast tart (as seen in the picture.) The best part is how easy it was to make using a pre-made pie crust. You can also use Phyllo dough or make your own crust.(UPDATE: I did an apple tart in the 9.5" pan and it came out so good! Especially after soaking the raisin medley overnight in Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. *chefs kiss* MWUAH!)They're slick and easy to clean (water just beads off them) and I can't wait to try an apple tart in the larger one.If you enjoy simple but delicious dishes, you need to get these tart pans. Flimsy.

These tart pans are ok. They are extremely light weight which may be a bad thing if you have to push crumb crusts into the corners or what not. The interior disks slide around very easily & there doesn't seem to be a "catch" lip for them. Just lay the disc on the base & pray it doesn't move. I would definitely use this over a piece of parchment paper and on a baking sheet or maybe even something with a lip around the Pan in case whatever you're baking is running and makes its way out through the bottom of this period but.. I just don't trust it. It looks like if you were to push up from the center. The edges of your tart may fall over. I'm not saying this is a bad product or a horrible product but it's definitely not that impressive and I would not give it to anyone as a gift ..unless you hate them of course.

Really nice tart pans

I am one of those that likes to bake, and recently have gotten into make homemade tarts. These tarts pans are really nice compared to some I have looked at. They are nicely constructed and thinker than most. They are also easy to use and clean. The bottom pans fit really nicely too, and there is a good overlap to help prevent butter leak from the dough while it is baking. I would still recommend putting a baking sheet under it though. I like the fact the set comes with 2 sizes, and the lip on the 7" one is higher than the 9.5" one, which is great for doing tarts that have more of a liquid filling like pecan tarts. It gives you that extra room for the expansion of the filling as it bakes. I am looking forward to getting a lot of use out of these.
