Mostly great lids for canning!

I have been using these lids for the last couple of years and love them! I like them better than the old kid and band method for canning because you don’t need to heat them like you would the flat lids. I gave them 4 stars because I had a bit of trouble with the last two boxes I received. Several of them did not seal and I had to throw them away and reprocess the jam I was canning. I’ve used these dozens of times and never had trouble so I’m assuming it was a problem with the latest boxes of lids.

SO far so good

I have used this style of lid before, many years ago. I like them for jam and condiments because all of the product may not be used when the jar is opened. Much easier to re-close than the 2 piece lids. They were available for a couple years back in the 70s and then disappeared. With regular lids in such short supply I decided to give these a try.SO far so good. I must admit I had some doubts. The description text was not well written and it was hard to be sure they were intended for canning. I used 7 of them yesterday and they all sealed but they do take longer to complete the seal and I did not notice the usual POP when the jar seals. When I checked them this morning the tester bubble on the top was the same as the 2 piece lids. I am not sure I would use them for pressure canning or even tomatoes because there's not much you can do with jars that son't seal. With jam and condiments you can refrigerate them. I will update the review if they don't stay sealed.
